Is anyone planning to watch this tonight?

Lovely sets and scenery but honestly the acting is awful, his mother makes me want to slap her. Indian summers was far, far better. Such a shame because I was looking forward to it

My curiosity was whetted by some of the comments here so I gave it a go.... dear lord it was seriously bad! A script which appears to have been written by a 5th former and acting which members of your local Amateur Dramatics Society would be ashamed of! And it's not like this was some cheapo day-time TV effort - this was obviously very expensive with all those sets in India, and intended to be prime Sunday night viewing. Why spend all that money and not have an at least half-way decent script?

I'd say its chances of being renewed for another series are close to zero.

I've got the far pavilions on dvd. It doesn't really stand up unfortunately.

They should definitely remake that, it's my favourite book ever and would be literally epic - if the bbc did it 😂

If any one still checks this thread..
Err was the 21st July the last episode ?
Was yhat it ?
I persevered...and got that ending .
And with no 2nd series ?

bizzey · 31/07/2019 00:24

Should say i dont watch on a sunday .i catch up during the week.

Rhubarb01 · 31/07/2019 08:01

Yes, that was it. I assume the end was written that way in anticipation of a second series. Only time will tell on that one, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

sandgrown · 31/07/2019 08:26

I watched the series and quite enjoyed it (easily pleased) It seems very Bollywood inspired. I need a second series to find out what has happened to baby August! I was searching on I player as I didn't realise it had finished .

bizzey · 31/07/2019 12:50

Oh well ..if baby August has been taken, then there would be no point watching !

I only watched it to see the cutest baby ever.
I am not even excluding mine .
He beat them hands down !😂😂😂

Riddleofthesands · 08/08/2019 15:35

Just watched this series, I am a sucker for anything set in India. Costumes were gorgeous, baby August very cute. Nothing positive to say after that.

GCAcademic · 08/08/2019 17:06

I, too, will watch absolutely anything set in India, including countless programmes about trains. I actually gave up on this after the third episode.
