Did anyone watch it?

Yes. I've watched every episode. I think it's fascinating, although incredibly sexist.

Agree that it's incredibly sexists and it's heartbreaking to see how life can turn out to be a complete contrast to our innocent childhood ambitions. It's brilliant show but going myself tearing up for those who were or had been suffering.

Just back from holiday and caught up with this series.

I've been watching this since 14Up and it's an incredible record not just of the individuals featured, but of our society and how it has developed over almost six decades.

Apart from the sadness for those who've died, are seriously ill or still struggling (Neil Sad ) what struck me most was the clearly intelligent women who haven't had the opportunities they should have had, and also what a profound impact the lack of love in a child's life can have.

I've just watched episode 2 ( I'm in Ireland and VirginMedia tv is showing it ).
I don't want to spoil things for anyone who has not watched it but one person, who on the face of things, had a very unremarkable life, yet what they did to help others was remarkable. Sad
I might ask Mumsnet HQ to put in a spoiler alert so we can discuss what happened.

There are other threads on this - it was on TV here a while ago. It's such an interesting programme.
