Yes I've been enjoying this with DD, found myself shouting at the tv quite a bit though Blush

sleepychunky · 19/06/2019 04:53

We are one of the families on the show Shock

Aired on Monday or Tuesdays show?

22Giraffes · 19/06/2019 18:33

Oh wow that's amazing! Can I ask who? Understand totally if you don't want to say. Was it fun? I'd love to try some of the games Smile

sleepychunky · 19/06/2019 21:52

Sorry won't say which family. It was very stressful to film and a very long day but I'm really proud of my family for taking part!

Give us a clue - have you been on yet?Grin

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 19/06/2019 22:18

We’re enjoying it, but obviously think we’d beat you if given the chanceGrin

sleepychunky · 20/06/2019 14:29

Yes we have been on already. The games were fun but you had no chance to practice first, we were literally told "this is how it works" and then had to do it. I didn't like that at all, would at least liked to have had one practice.
@Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis I'm sure you would Smile

Tuesday's was good. The families sat at the same table and chatted and seemed to genuinely like each other.

sleepychunky · 21/06/2019 09:03

We really liked our opposition - there was lots of sitting around and chatting in between games.

Really enjoyed this - have seen up to the start of the semi finals so far.

I thought all the families in it have done really well.....I felt sorry for the family who didn’t win a game but thought that despite Tv-editing love of making a drama the two boys did really well not to be more upset than they were. Surprisingly good control given the nature of that sort of thing, how long a day you say it was and their age. And their used to being cleverer than others.....

One thing that wasn’t clear. Before each game they tell the viewers how well the family scored in that sort of thing in the pre-testing (like 2D manipulation etc). Were you told that before you chose who played what role in each challenge? There seemed to have been a few odd choices made if you were! (Not you, you obviously!)

sleepychunky · 25/06/2019 19:34

We didn't get told anything about the results of all the pre-screening so had no idea who might be good at what. It was surprising to find out on broadcast day as we wouldn't necessarily have expected the results to be what they were!

I'm liking the way communication is a very important part. It really dampens down any member who is a bit too full of themselves or found of their own voice!!!

The three families that are through come across well and seem pleasant.

Feelingsad19 · 27/06/2019 20:47

Jane needs to learn some manners and respect. The way she keeps shushing her younger brother and her grandfather is appalling.

Feelingsad19 · 27/06/2019 20:48

Heidi is absolutely adorable

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 27/06/2019 21:16

These were my favourite three families tonight.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 27/06/2019 21:17

Jane apologised to her grandad afterwards.

Feelingsad19 · 27/06/2019 21:52

Yes she did, twice on different occasions. Which makes you wonder if she’s learnt that saying sorry absolves her rather than actually addressing the bad behaviour in the first place.

RedForShort · 27/06/2019 22:24

Any particular reason it's just Jane that needs to learn manners? Plenty of snipping and shut ups when the pressure was on. Only family without it was the Smiths.

The most pleasant family won, without a doubt!

Feelingsad19 · 27/06/2019 22:30

Yes other families snapped at each other etc but Jane consistently shushed night only her younger brother and grandfather, not her father. That smacks of bullying.

fraxion · 27/06/2019 22:40

Loved this programme, so pleased the Smith family won, they were so calm and the girls are a delight.

RedForShort · 28/06/2019 07:38

Me too fraxion. They were all so very pleasant and calm. No blame doled out, and all listened to each other equally.

Unlike many of the other families!!Which is why I don't get why Feelingsad19 is picking out Jane. She was for the best part of the programme pleasant. There were most certainly some very notable members who were very rude in how they spoke to their family; some where quite aggressive. (None of whom apologise after - or at least not on camera.)
