More rain Sad. I’m looking forward to watching Tsitsipas at Wimbledon - maybe not against Rafa though. Will be interesting to see how he does this week.

PrivateIsles · 19/06/2019 19:59

These bloody ads after the first post on each page are driving me mad.

I read your post saying "Oh" and I was thinking "don't leave us in suspense Raahh!" Then eventually I realised there was another post underneath!!

The forecast for London looks ok for tomorrow but that's for London as a whole, not the specific Baron's Court area. Fingers crossed it's going to be ok.

Delpo has withdrawn from doubles because of his knee. So I presume that means he'll carry on in singles? But doesn't want to play too much on the knee ATM? Or maybe he'll pull out of singles too Sad

I can't take it!!

PrivateIsles · 19/06/2019 20:52

Oh boooo - update - he has withdrawn from the tournament altogether Sad

OP posts:
Adelie0404 · 19/06/2019 21:05

Oh no! Delpo! That is seriously bad news. I hope he will be ok for Wimbledon.
Bloody rain!

Raahh · 19/06/2019 21:08

Oh no.
Delpo. Sad

JaneJeffer · 19/06/2019 21:09

Oh poor Delpo.

Apart from a glimpse at Stan I didn't get to watch any today. Hope the weather improves.

Fizzywinegum · 19/06/2019 21:29

Poor Delpo Sad

magimedi · 19/06/2019 22:23

And I was wanting Delpo to win Wimbledon. If not him, Tsitipas.

And I don't know why I dreamt about Shaggy's Dad last night.

Having seen Apostolis Tsitspas ( Stefanos's Dad) he's the one I'm dreaming of. Silver fox or what?? Grin

PrivateIsles · 19/06/2019 23:06

He really is magi - and such a great name as well!

Gutted for Delpo, the annoying thing is he's playing well but he just hasn't been able to put matches together. I hope this is just a precautionary thing and he'll be ok for Wimbledon. Come on tennis Gods! Make it happen.

Packed schedule at Queen's tomorrow - play starts at 11am! Andy Murray is the fifth match on centre court - so will probably clash with the football on BBC. No doubt the Voice of Doom will let us know! Grin

Raahh · 19/06/2019 23:54

magi the Tsitsipas family are quite good looking, as a whole, really Grin

I do hope that it's not the end for Delpo. How many times can he come back from a serious injury?

He is only 30. But it's not really that long ago players were at the end of their careers at that age.

Earlier today John Lloyd was talking about him ,and I did agree- without injuries, he would have been a rival for the Big 3. There should have been more slams, definitely he should have been more of a threat at least at masters level. I'd love him to win another.

Raahh · 20/06/2019 07:30

Well, I've just seen the schedule for today- complicated doesn't begin to cover it.

One spot of rain, and it will be a complete disaster.

PrivateIsles · 20/06/2019 07:46

Raahh yes it looks v complicated! Cilic (remember when he won his first round match, all those years ago?!) is supposed to play singles and doubles today - so are a few others.

I hope they get some decent play in today, they've been so unlucky.

I hope Delpo keeps on keeping on after this latest setback, and that it's nothing serious.

kazzaD66 · 20/06/2019 11:09

Yes, I've just seen the order of play. What I don't think is fair is that those who haven't even finished their first round matches are not the first on court at 11am, but are the second match on after those playing second round matches. In particular, Dimitrov and Stefanos vs Kyle to finish. The winner of the latter only has one match to recover before they're back on Centre Court (although, tbf that one might only be another 3 games Grin). Dick K is in the same boat but I don't care a flying f* about him. And he's now been shoved out on to Court 2 Grin

Hoping to watch some tennis today. All I saw yesterday was one game of Evans vs Stan before they came in for rain at about 2.30pm and then the Stefanos interview which followed that. It was v noisy - it sounded like he was being interviewed by the back of the kitchens!

Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:25

Dick is on court 2?!Grin Allez! Mannarino.

They will have him playing in a neighbouring garden soon with a bit of luck

Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:40

The big gap between Cilic playing Monday, and today, reminds me of Wimbledon 1991. There was no play on the first Monday that year, it took Edberg about 3 days to finally finish his opening round match, as defending champion. I think that was the year of the first Middle Sunday.

I was at university, and a group of us had taken over the tv room in the halls (none of us had our own tv) on the Monday- and despite there being no live tennis, we were determined to stick it out! Grin

Adelie0404 · 20/06/2019 11:41

Do you think they could go on any more about Diego’s height? I mean really!

PrivateIsles · 20/06/2019 11:43

Grin am watching on prime as it doesn't seem to be on the Beeb for some reason (because who doesn't want to watch Britain's Longest Road instead? Hmm)

The Queen's schedule is crazy. But having to sort out something like that would be my worst nightmare - I'd have people playing at the same time etc - and would probably end up sobbing hysterically in a corner Grin

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 20/06/2019 11:47

Raahh I like your student determination to watch tennis!! Ah a communal TV - kids these days don't know they're born! Grin

Adelie is it even a Schwartzman match if they don't mention his height?! Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:52

Adelie I know.

He's still nearly a foot taller than me Grin

Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:56

Private we camped out in that room all week - and it rained most days, so there was very little actual tennis. I think Des and Gerry ran out of things to say, and old matches to show (which at the time probably amounted to Borg/Mac 1980, or something).

Kids today, certainly do not know what it is like.

Now they would be in their rooms, watching the match on a phone Grin.

I've got it on the red button (which for those with Virgin, is also channel 991Grin).

Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:57

Private it's a shame Sascha is in Halle- they could add 'schedule matches' to his 'to do' list.

Grin
Adelie0404 · 20/06/2019 11:59

I guess not!
Marin seems a bit discombobulated, somehow.
I find Robbie Koenig quite irritating.

Raahh · 20/06/2019 11:59

Cilic is having a very bad day.

Diego hasn't exactly been playing brilliantly either.

Adelie0404 · 20/06/2019 12:03

“I don’t think he could have walked down and placed it (the ball) any better than that”
What?!
Is this a strategy in tennis I don’t know?
