Anyone watched tonight's? What did you reckon?

I really liked it. Can imagine car enthusiasts being less impressed... didn’t seem to be about the cars really. I do like me some Freddie Flintoff.

TyneTeas · 16/06/2019 22:39

I enjoyed it, it was a lot better than I expected. I thought beforehand Paddy and Flintoff are fine in moderation and if sufficiently offset by others, but reckoned Chris might get dominated by them and he would be permanently annoyed by and at them, but it was thankfully more balanced between them.

Loved it. Freddie is lovely and Paddy very funny. Both warm and natural, apart from the studio bit but that should improve with practice.

That's my Sunday nights brightened for the next few weeks Smile

thumpingrug · 17/06/2019 22:29

Difficult to see it as any different from Clarkson, Hammond and May. Slightly less grey hair and pot bellies perhaps, but same old dicking around. Still the best thing on a sunday night though

AllGoodDogs · 18/06/2019 13:23

Anything with Freddie & Paddy gets my vote. I found it really funny!

northernstars · 18/06/2019 19:18

I only watched it for them. I was howling in places - especially when Fred got out of his car in that jumper and kecks.

HairyToity · 18/06/2019 21:45

I surprised myself. Really enjoyed it.

Bubblysqueak · 18/06/2019 22:08

I was very sceptical but actually really enjoyed it and am looking forward to next week. I've read some scathing reviews though.

Popfan · 18/06/2019 22:10

It was good! Pretty sweary for before 9 pm though - the words were very clear even with the beeping out.

Walney · 19/06/2019 07:26

Sceptical of it but ended up really enjoying it, refreshing change. I'm really excited that they have an electric car special next week as old Top Gear would refuse to review them and I think it's great they are moving with the times. Also read Flintoffs article in the Guardian about how devastated they were when finding out about Brunei after they had filmed there, and their celebrating the LGBTQ+ community even if it's just painting the cars in Pride colours.

TyneTeas · 23/06/2019 21:11

Tonight's was pretty decent too I thought

It was great seeing electric cars having a whole episode devoted to them. We would love a Tesla, husband had a ride in one and said it's the best car he's ever been in.

They also highlighted a very important issue. Promoting and buying electric cars is great, but the country needs to improve the infrastructure of sufficient charge points.

I think Bob Mortimer's lap is my favourite everGrin Grin Grin
