I agree that splitting the chat would be a shame, and you can’t prevent certain chat like derogatory comments about minority communities or requesting that participants are plied with alcohol for entertainment.

I'd like to be on a new non racist thread if someone starts one.

Oh that’s a shame there’s going to be two threads! I think like anywhere else on mumsnet you need to ignore the bits you don’t like and report anything obviously unacceptable.

I’m sure the discussion will very quickly combine again. Personally I’m just not ready to join in with the other discussion quite yet.

Perhaps MNHQ (or the person who pressed delete) also didn't understand that it was inappropriate and racist.
