How brilliant is Killing Eve?

Just watched the first episode in the new series and I'm stunned by how brilliant it is. The acting by Jodie Comer is particularly brilliant. She's shocking, enigmatic, scary and thoroughly believable all at the same time. I don't normally enjoy watching gratuitous violence and will turn over, but I was gripped from start to finish. Drama at its absolute best, and all the better for it being British made.

That should of said by the second series not episode.

Loving it. Comer is outstanding.
It does crack me up how random clothes she steals from strangers always seem to fit perfectly and look amazing.

"Can you make sure you record Pointless, Kenny?"

I said on a previous KE thread that there should be a book of Carolyn’s one liners. She’s hilarious.

I’ve warched all of S2 and although it’s fantastic I think it’s missing a tiny something from S1.

I’ve just watched the last of series 2 and it’s definitely not as good as the first. Still enjoyed it but it was missing something. Maybe it was the loss of the shock value from the first series, I don’t know.

JC's wincing as she gingerly put her foot in the white clogs for the first time was brilliant.

And yy to Carolyn''s one liner in the park "that child? Never seen him before" Grin

RosaWaiting · 13/06/2019 20:55

I did assume the child wasn't Carolyn's!

I've only seen ep 3 so can't judge the whole thing but really enjoying it. Eve should have guessed about the lipstick though.

I loved how Villanelle rushed to Konstantin. I hate his laugh though!!

ChoudeBruxelles · 13/06/2019 20:56

Loved it. Watched it over 2 days.

I love this series - trying to ration myself and not binge. I think the naysayers are just wanting to pick holes because it isn't the sainted Phoebe Waller Bridge any more. Creepy Julien episode was amazing, I don't know how anyone who liked the first series wouldn't be rubbing their hands with glee at his house of dolls. Jody Comer is brilliant, just mesmerising.

Carolyn is, of course, amazing - and I have a bit of a crush on Konstantin. Finished episode 6 - don't want the series to end!

RosaWaiting · 13/06/2019 21:28

oh speaking of the house of dolls - what's with the time travel?!

I mean, I get that Julian's house was frozen in time - but now the hotel in episode 2/3 - that decor is straight out of the 80s as well!

also, the supermarket where Villanelle met Julian looked like the 80s.

Obviously the stylists can do as they please Grin but I wondered if there was going to be some significance to it.

HermioneWeasley · 23/06/2019 12:29

It was brilliant

whateverheather · 14/07/2019 21:17

also, the supermarket where Villanelle met Julian looked like the 80s.

I work 2 mins from that supermarket, I recognised it , and the fish n chip shop next to it and the car Park after they finish from that super market, & it's all in the same place as my workplace which is down the rd from me !

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 15/07/2019 07:42

spoilery
The emojis and Kill Commander text tickled me Grin
I am confused though - I know that you have spies used as double agents a lot and the whole enterprise is murky/dodgy and that potentially The Ghost/Aaron whatsisname represent a greater security threat and that Konstantin was always playing for both sides, Carolyn/the 12...but why have you had a whole series committed to catching Villanelle for that to be dismissed when you then decide to recruit her? despite her killing one of your team?
I know Carolyn = expedience but it's an odd turnaround. I still have 2 episodes to go, have we forgotten about the 12 entirely or is there a connection with Aaron. Plotting seems to be all over the place.
Also Villanelle saying the only thing interesting about Eve 'is me' - so she only likes her because she sees herself in her?
