New series starting on channel 4 next week. Looks funny. Anyone else going to watch it?

Yes! The writer/creator (I think!) was interviewed on Front Row this evening, and it sounded like it's going to be worth a watch.

So much so, that I immediately went and set the TV recorder thingy to record it.

Yes I did. Slightly disappointed tbh. But it might pick up.

I started to watch last night but didnt really enjoy it... turned it off after 15 minutes. I have them recording so will wait and see if any future positive reviews!

I loved it! But then I love anything with Matt Berry in...

I thought it was a fun pisstake of the Victorian Laaandan crime series. Enjoyable.

Have watched two episodes, but not laughed at all. Good concept, it could have been funny but very disappointing. Quite liked the Elephant Man spoof though. I'm only watching now because it has some good performers in it (Matt Berry , Keeley Hawes, Freddie Fox) but the writing is crap. I don't like the way they are getting the little Victorian urchins to swear, and the adult characters are swearing at them. They are played by real children and I think it's distasteful.

Matt Berry was hilarious as a vampire in What We Do in the Shadows, and I love Keeley Hawes, so it just goes to show it's all about the writing. Writers are so important and should get more credit for what they do.
