How do you share TV time

Quite trivial but annoying.

If it's a programme that DH watches like Stranger Things, even though I don't do squelchy monsters, I persevered. When I've tried to put on stuff I like, it always ends up, can't we watch this or that instead.

I'm really excited about a Christmas special, I've never watched the box set with DH. I wanted to watch say 3 episodes like DH would of his hour long programmes. He moaned that even though mine are maybe 25 minutes, we shouldn't watch too many as he might get bored.

I did highlight I've watched all sorts I would usually avoid.

How do you share TV time.

By having more than one TV

Ah that's a good one 🤭 DH does like us to watch things together, but it does seem skewed to what he wants.

We watch things together mainly... but have a tv in the bedroom for things one of us can't face.

I go to bed early when football is on "the big tv" and he goes up early when I'm watching something he has no interest in.

We usually watch one programme each of an evening, while he is watching his I usually read/faff on the internet/have a bath. Eg last night he watched star trek then I watched the virtues.

But the ideal is finding series we both enjoy. Recently- killing eve/Russian doll... but I have to say it can be tricky finding one we both love!

I also think I end up compromising more and watching things more Male orientated . He is sometimes less keen to watch things that are female heavy, but he did enjoy killing eve. I actually think he would have enjoyed dead to me if he had given it a chance.

Luckily we both like most of the same things, including most sport so usually watch together.
However, there are things we differ on. DH likes Star Trek and sci fi and generally I don't. I like a few programmes he doesn't. We either record and watch when the other is busy with something else or watch on our tablet with headphones, particularly if it's something short.

I hope we can come to an agreement, as I can't see how 3 hours of Stranger Things, equates to 3 x 25/30 minute show I want to watch. I know my taste is slightly different, although I don't really fancy loads of death & destruction.

Is it Gavin & Stacey, OP?!! If so, he's just wrong.
