Failed to get into the Handmaids Tale (too grim), not got past episode 1 of The Borgias.....

I like intrigue and machinations, can tolerate violence ... any ideas? Not really into more fantasy than was in GoT ....

I really liked Walking Dead, enough happening to keep me gripped and plenty of seasons! Some are slower than others but worth sticking it out.

The Good Wife is my favourite of all time. Strong female characters, funny and interesting.

The Last Kingdom

katiegoestoaldi · 21/05/2019 11:34

I second The Last Kingdom

TheFirstOHN · 21/05/2019 11:41

Medici: Masters of Florence
Medici: The Magnificent

Unburnished · 21/05/2019 11:43

House of Cards, Suits.

Didiusfalco · 21/05/2019 11:45

The Americans. That has a really satisfying ending too.

TheWitchwithNoName · 21/05/2019 11:48

Read the books, they will keep you busy Grin

GarthFunkel · 21/05/2019 13:43

Also Marco Polo on Netflix.

FadedRed · 21/05/2019 13:46

Thirding The Last Kingdom - IMO better than GoT.

Notonthestairs · 21/05/2019 14:05

Love the Last Kingdom.
What about Vikings or Outlander?

hiddenmnetter · 21/05/2019 14:10

Thirding The Last Kingdom - IMO better than GoT.

Haven’t watched The Last Kingdom but after GoT’s travesty of an ending literally a turd on a stick waving around for 90 minutes would have been better.

Bran the broken my fucking arse.

NurseButtercup · 21/05/2019 16:22

The 2nd season of Big Little Lies starts on 5th June with Meryl Streep and a new season of Black Mirror starts on 7th June. Based upon the trailers I've seen I'm looking forward to both of these programs.

ElspethFlashman · 21/05/2019 18:55

Literally have never heard of The Last Kingdom and now I've crawled out from under my GOT rock, I'm intrigued.

Unburnished · 22/05/2019 00:25

You know, I was so intrigued by all the recommendations for The Last Kingdom that I went to watch the trailer. It turns out it was so bland I’d forgotten I’d already watched it. Just so forgettable. What do people love about it? I think Vikings & GOT (S1-5) were far better.

Torvi · 23/05/2019 20:33

I love Vikings, especially the earlier seasons. It's much more violent than GoT though.

SinkGirl · 23/05/2019 20:37

The Shield - all 7 seasons available on All4, my favourite TV series of all time, ever ever.

Rafflesway · 23/05/2019 20:37

Another huge thumbs up for The Last Kingdom, Vikings and Outlander.

I loved GOT but the above 3 are even better IMO.

MsMarvellous · 23/05/2019 20:40

I was bereft too. So I'm bingeing all of GoT again while it's still on NowTV Grin

BorderlineExperimental · 23/05/2019 20:49

Carnivàle. It's absolutely brilliant and although only two out of a planned six seasons were ever filmed it still manages to feel like a complete story.

Hannibal. Three seasons, all available on Netflix I believe.

Legion. Two seasons available to watch with a third airing from next month onwards.

Nutkin123 · 23/05/2019 20:51

Haha I've just bought all the books because I'm not ready to give it up yet Grin

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 23/05/2019 21:10

I am watching series 3 of Sneaky Pete with my eldest ATM. We both really enjoy it.

Noooo! I love Carnivale, one of my top five definitely, but it certainly doesn’t feel like a complete story to me. I’m still bitter 😂

shartsi · 24/05/2019 06:40

Another one for outlander.
I am currently watching peaky blinders.

SapatSea · 24/05/2019 08:42

Another vote for The Last Kingdom or Vikings (especially the earlier seasons) and The Good Wife is fantastic binge watching.
