Love this! Love Cherish. Love Tom. Love Benoit. Liam is OK...
Who's with me?

viques · 30/04/2019 20:18

I am with you my little cherry bakewell!

Wow I would be deeply scared if Cherish was worried about breaking her teeth on my patisserie.

The married couple are very organised. they've probably made tea, washed up and watched a box set of Luther.

TwitterQueen1 · 30/04/2019 20:21
Grin Cherish was so scary on the series before GBBO the Professionals (can't remember what it was called... She used to get her ruler out to measure sizes to the nearest mm. But I just love the passion, the dedication...

I see the married couple finished with time to spare.... but whose Cherry Bakewell will win out?

I refuse to taste the tart! It is uncooked

She is so terrifying! Even when she says nice things I get anxious.

OOoh, red velvet cake. Love cream cheese frosting, and chocolate cake.

viques · 30/04/2019 20:31

Erm, what is she doing to that stump (?) of chocolate......

LemonRedwood · 30/04/2019 20:34

I wish all these so-called professionals would fuck off with putting herbs in puddings. Basil has no business being anywhere near a bavarois. It does not taste good.

viques · 30/04/2019 20:35

That isn't red enough for red velvet cake. Fail.

viques · 30/04/2019 20:38

I agree Lemonredwood, I feel the same when they fling flowers on savoury food. So very wrong. And don't get me started on nasturtium leaves, which IMO taste exactly how caterpillars smell.

LemonRedwood · 30/04/2019 20:59

Thanks viques, sometimes I feel like a lone voice with the herb-hate!

Wrong team went home tonight IMO. Should have been Reshmi & Daisy, fight back or not, none of their dishes were good.

TwitterQueen1 · 30/04/2019 21:00

Do you go around smelling caterpillars viques? Grin

I haven't got all the names yet... but I thought the Rashmi & 1 team should have gone?

Walney · 30/04/2019 22:07

I am so glad this back, I absolutely love Cherish and Benoit.

viques · 07/05/2019 20:45

Girls having a bad week. Reshmi poorly sick, chiltons hardly speaking to each other.

Eeeeeeklair !

viques · 07/05/2019 20:55

I love marzipan, but I am on team cherish, marzipan does not belong on an eclair.

I think this challenge proves beyond doubt my new mantra for a happy life. Don't mess with eclairs

Cream or creme pat in the middle, chocolate on the top.

Sux2buthen · 15/05/2019 21:22

These professionals are a bit of a let down so far this series.

longwayoff · 16/05/2019 19:59

It seems there's always a lack of continental flair, we Brits are excellent cake and pudding makers, but the precision of patisserie defeats us. It never looks right to me. French patissiers train for years. Still like watching programme though.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 24/05/2019 18:42

Is anyone still watching? I'm confused as to why there were new bakers this week? I assumed it was the final as last week they were down to 3 couples. I never normally watch this show, so not sure how it works!

Sux2buthen · 24/05/2019 21:49

Still watching. There's three teams from the first group and now they will get three from this group and then merge against each other.
These are the least professional professionals I've seen on here, it's usually fascinating but half of them have forgotten how to bake lol.
Loved that yellow sugar work showstopper though

TwitterQueen1 · 24/05/2019 21:52

I watch religiously! I forgot I started this thread though! I don't think they're as good as previous teams... And Benoit and Cherish are far too nice these days. I liked them fierce and unfriendly.

OP posts:
Leftielefterson · 24/05/2019 21:54

Love the actual programme but really dislike the judges and presenters.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 24/05/2019 22:33

Thanks @Sux2buthen - that makes sense.

@Leftielefterson I agree actually as I don't like either the presenters or judges! I also think the bakers are pretty shit - GBBO has much better bakers!

From what @TwitterQueen1 says, it sounds like I need to watch previous series as I'm not sure why I'm still watching this one, given how I feel about it Grin

IHeartArya · 26/05/2019 12:39

I think this has suffered by being moved to channel 4 - love Benoit & Cherish & would be seriously scared having them over for tea. Fat chance mind you!

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 26/05/2019 13:02

What channel was it on previously?

TwitterQueen1 · 26/05/2019 13:11

It was called Bake Off Creme De La Creme and on Channel 2 a few years ago. Different programme but still with Benoit and Cherish. They spun a new programme out when Ch4 bought GBBO. It's not being shown any more.

OP posts:
LemonRedwood · 28/05/2019 20:17

I like it much more now it's on channel 4. I think Tom and Liam are good hosts, so much better than Tom Kerridge. He was just so awkward!

Anyone watching tonight? Why do people still insist on using matcha to ruin desserts? I thought most people had figured out it tasted horrible by now.

TwitterQueen1 · 29/05/2019 16:33

Out last night so missed it - I'll catch up. Utterly stupid when Tom K hosted it - what is the point when you don't eat any of it!!!!
