I have just shamelessly taken the afternoon off work, drawn the curtains, snuggled up with the dog and watched the last four episodes back-to-back. I didn't even move to make a cup of tea, which is unprecedented for me. I'm going to watch them again slowly though, because there's so much to miss. And I agree - Friday was just incredible.

Can someone explain why Cathy has had that Punto on her driveway for 2 years but gets taxis and lifts everywhere, then start of episode 3 she drives it to the house Pauline and Derek have rented?!

I can't remember her getting a lift or a taxi?

Michael took her to the garden centre on a "date"
She asked to travel with Michael to the birthday carvary to be alone with him.
She went in the undertakers cr to her husbands funeral.

She says to Michael in S1 "what would I do without you" and he says "take a cab". I've just binged first 2 series and the only time she's interacted with the car is early one morning she takes shopping out of the boot.

I loved the scene where they move all the cars. I don’t know why but I found it hilarious.

Mind you I loved every minute and will quite happily rewatch the whole lot to help me through boring jobs that need doing !

DH got a bit emotional after watching ‘Friday’. His arsehole brother behaved in a much worse way than Jason when their Mum met the man she later married, after their DF died. Stepfather was a lovely man, 25 yo BIL behaved like a toddler and wanted his Mum to preserve her widowed state in aspic. He’s still a selfish sulky fucker 30 years on.......

I have created my own "Cathy tin" filled with sweets and lollies. I haven't put them out on the table for everyone to share, though. I've put them in the gap behind the corner sofa and not told anyone they're there. So maybe I'll forever be the only one who eats them. What a shame.

Awwww I just love this show. I’d forgotten all about it, watched series 1 when it came out and have watched series 1- series 3 Friday in the last couple of days 😄
I love every character. They’re so good. I’m so pleased Reg and Maureen characters have been deepened this series and series 2. I love that it’s all a bit melancholy.

I'm falling in love with this show now I've read a bit about the inspiration for it:

A combination of the total lack of 'normal' LMC backgrounds in TV at the moment and the lack of three dimensional older female characters. Not bad considering the writer is male (but then again he did also write Him & Her which has a similar 'normal' thing going on).

Both show worlds I actually recognise. People I've known. They reflect my 'normal' in all it's weirdness. And for that, I salute him.

If we read this thread enough it'll make us a latte! Boom boom
