Just had a slight panic when I saw the thread was nearly full.

I am now off to check the schedule properly- to see what I'll miss todayGrin

I would never have expected him to play this well after being out for so long.

PrivateIsles · 18/05/2019 00:08

Well it was a great effort from Delpo. Brilliant match.

Right I'm off to bed - have to get up early to go and look at carpets, the excitement!!

Fizzywinegum · 18/05/2019 00:10

Have to say well done to Djok (through gritted teeth) but some definite positives for Delpo - hope it continues for him.

Raahh · 18/05/2019 09:05

I fell asleep .Blush.
Excellent effort from Delpo, but such a shame to match points and lose from there. If he had beaten Djok I would have even been happy to see him win the tournament ( although Rafa NEEDS to win something!).

Rafa cannot lose 4 semis in a row . However much I like Stef!

Yes, I bet Djok was breathing a sigh of relief when Delpo missed that forehand on match point - it wasn't exactly a sitter but he'd been hitting them really well before that. He had break points in the third as well but no joy. And Djok is just relentless isn't he, once he gets a sniff of victory, that's all he needs!

Perhaps Diego will get revenge for his fellow Argentinian later?!

Rafa-Tsitsipas should be good. Presume that one's on first after Djok's late night.

Raahh · 18/05/2019 10:08

I'm hoping the blisters aren't too bad, and it gives Delpo a much needed boost after a really low start to the year. A good run at RG would set him up nicely for Wimbledon- I would love to see a repeat of the matches he played there last year. The Rafa match was the highlight of the year, such an amazing evening, and played in the best of spirits.

Yes- Vamos El Peque- do it for Argentina, and Delpo (and the rest of us, who can't stand Djok- and I've always liked wee Diego Grin)

PrivateIsles · 18/05/2019 10:14

That's true Raahh - if he'd played again today he'd have probably ended up crocked!!

That would be great if he could do well at RG/Wimbledon. Ah those two slams were so great last year (apart from the wrong person winning the men's Wimbledon title that is, still bitter about the roof thing!!)

Vamos Diego!

Raahh · 18/05/2019 12:52

All we can hope for is a repeat of 2016 (without the RG result, that is) and a spectacular loss of form somehow from Djok. Maybe someone can get in his head again, about the whole ATP /Kermode thing? That seemed to piss him off Grin.

I see Konta is having a good run. Does she have ( yet another) new coach? I've never got onto the Jo bandwagon, I'm afraid, I know she's a 'Brit' and all that - but I've never warmed to her at all . Plus her service action winds me up.

JaneJeffer · 18/05/2019 12:55

Konta annoys me. I just can't take to her.

magimedi · 18/05/2019 13:02

I'm not wild about Konta, either. And I didn't like the way she walked off court so quickly when she lost to Venus in the semis at Wimbledon.

I'm now trying to think of which current tennis players I do like..............

Raahh · 18/05/2019 13:17

Oh, I remember that. She was disappointed, I get that- but it was quite rude.

Fizzywinegum · 18/05/2019 14:03

Have you managed to think of any yet magi Grin. What about shaggy?

The konta/bertens match has gone to three sets - I’m not much of a konta fan either. Wish they’d hurry up - I want to watch Rafa and Tsitsipas.

I’ve got family coming round later and was hoping to get a bit of Rafa watching in before they came. I really hope that Rafa wins but not sure I want to see him facing Djok in the final (unless Diego pulls off a massive upset)

kazzaD66 · 18/05/2019 14:19

Wow! What's got into Konta this week? She's in the final! I've never warmed to her much either. And yes, her service action is painful in the extreme Grin but well done to her Tennis

magimedi · 18/05/2019 15:14

I do like Shaggy, Tits, Andy Murray, Rafa, Gasquet, Delpo, Bust-a-gut, Goffin and am sure there are more.

Fizzywinegum · 18/05/2019 15:22

That’s quite a few to be going on with there magi.

Konta has done well to get to the final kazza

Rafa seems to be in control against Tsitsipas - don’t want to jinx him though.

PrivateIsles · 18/05/2019 15:33

Yes Rafa looking business like at the mo...

Fizzywinegum · 18/05/2019 15:48

I don’t really understand how the umpire and players can be sure that the mark on the court is the right one when they are checking if a ball is out. Surely there must be lots of marks on the court?

Tsitsipas is getting cross with the umpire.

PrivateIsles · 18/05/2019 15:58

That's what I always think as well Fizzy - it's weird Confused

Fizzywinegum · 18/05/2019 16:07

I’m glad it’s not just me Private!

Raahh · 18/05/2019 16:20

Hurray ! I am score watching while walking around Ikea. I have lost my family.

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 18/05/2019 16:23

I have lost my family
Accidentally or on purpose Raahh Grin

Raahh · 18/05/2019 16:25

Erm...

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 18/05/2019 16:30

I'm jealous Raahh - I love Ikea. Especially those little staged rooms they have - love them.

Anyway. Good solid win for Rafa. He's got to have an advantage with Djok playing late last night and later today as well. Ah well - that's the way the cookie crumbles Grin

kazzaD66 · 18/05/2019 17:07

I have never been in an Ikea store Grin
