I really didn't want Djok to win.

Bugger Angry

PrivateIsles · 12/05/2019 21:00

On the plus side, Feli was really rocking those suits Star

Disclaimer: I didn't see any of the actual match, just a clip of the trophy ceremony.

Trust Djok to start getting his mojo back with a Slam round the corner.

We should have WiFi restored tomorrow - not holding my breath Hmm

Hope everyone is well Smile

Raahh · 12/05/2019 21:06

I am miffed, I tell you.

I felt sorry for Djok, dammit, last year. briefly

And this is how he repays me.

If only he had stuck to his guns after sulking at RG, and not gone to Wimbledon.

This year might not have happened. Grin.

Yes don’t ever be nice about Djokovic - I think I had a brief nanosecond of feeling sorry for him last year but never again!

kazzaD66 · 12/05/2019 21:38

Raahh Grin

private fingers crossed for your wifi Smile

kazzaD66 · 12/05/2019 21:43

The thing is, I used to think Djok was ok when he first came on the scene. Seemed a nice enough bloke, who didn't seem to take himself too seriously, and did some quite funny impressions of other tennis players - Becker and Sharapova are two that spring to mind. If he had just stayed like that, all would well, but he had to go and spoil it and now I really don't like him much.

magimedi · 12/05/2019 21:55

DjoK is the biggest tosser I have ever come across in all my life - he even beats the Bear.

If I began to tell you my loathing of that man we'd be here till breakfast tomorrow & I'm off to bed now!! Hard day with the pressure washer today!

Grin Tennis
Fizzywinegum · 12/05/2019 21:57

I remember him doing impressions of other players as well kazza - he was seen as a bit of a joker - how times have changed!

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2019 23:09

Yes he was very good at impersonation but was probably just taking the piss Grin

kazzaD66 · 13/05/2019 09:36

I see both Evans and Norrie qualified for the Italian Open, with Dan beating Lajovic, who was runner up in Monte Carlo, in straight sets yesterday! Edmund has Verdasco today, so that could be another quick exit for Kyle. Same for Jo-Willy unfortunately, who plays Foggy today.
In the absence of being able to watch it, I will be avidly score watching Grin Tennis

JaneJeffer · 13/05/2019 09:41

I read somewhere that Sky are going to show the semifinals and final. I haven't been able to confirm because the TV guide doesn't go that far ahead yet. Hope it's true.

Tsonga and Our Fabio should be a good match.

kazzaD66 · 13/05/2019 09:53

I don't have Sky Jane , I don't have anything (apart from Netflix!).
If the BBC ever lose Wimbledon, I'm going to crawl into a hole and cry Grin

There was an interview with Foggy in the weekend Torygraph. He said he doesn't regret any of his antics on court and sees no need to apologise for them. He's also the same age as Andy and Djok and said that, even in the juniors, it was obvious they were head and shoulders above everyone else. He thinks their greatest advantage is their mental strength.

JaneJeffer · 13/05/2019 09:59

I had better not comment on what I sometimes think of Djokovic's mental state Grin

If the BBC lose Wimbledon I will lose the plot!

PrivateIsles · 13/05/2019 12:52

Ah Kyle lost again - no shame in losing to Verdasco on clay, but he was a set and 4-1 up!

Wimbledon is safe on the BBC for a few years isn't it - or that's what I thought anyway, but maybe not!! I have really missed having broadband and being able to watch the ATP on Amazon the last couple of weeks. It'll be great when the French Open is on and we can all watch and discuss it (apart from people who have rashly booked holidays of course Grin)

I saw the interview with our Fabio as well kazza - I do like the telegraph sports pages (not so much the rest of it). I can see why some people find Foggy's antics pretty off at times, but I still love watching him. I wonder how he'll do at RG??

PrivateIsles · 13/05/2019 12:55

PS Fizzy you'll definitely have to find a bar showing the tennis on your hols. I remember watching the Goran-Rafter Wimbledon final in a bar in Greece, they definitely thought we were mad (we'd also been there about 5 days in a row previously, watching the rain delayed semi finals!).

magimedi · 13/05/2019 13:00

BBC has Wimbledon until 2024 - so no need for panic - yet!

Will only see first week of French as will be with family, looking after GC for the second week. Can't see 18 month & 4 year old letting Granny watch much tennis Grin.

kazzaD66 · 13/05/2019 13:06

Private just looked at the latest scores and thought......oh well, at least Kyle didn't lose in straight sets - but now knowing he was a set and 4-1 up makes it worse Grin He really needs to work on his mental strength and not let these leads go to waste, as I don't think this is the first time Hmm

PrivateIsles · 13/05/2019 13:09

Yes I think he had a similar match recently didn't he - can't remember who it was against - was it Fognini??

magi thanks for the update. 5 years at least of BBC - and hopefully, AC Grin - covering Wimbledon, I agree - don't think we should worry about it disappearing just yet, phew!

kazzaD66 · 13/05/2019 13:35

You had to go and spoil it, didn't you private Angry

PrivateIsles · 13/05/2019 14:11

Sorry kazza I couldn't resist!
