BBC Antiques Roadshow - who is this?

For anyone who has watched the show for years - can anyone tell me who the white haired gentleman is (or was) who used to be on older programs. Before Fiona Bruce started presenting.

The white haired gentleman appraised military items (such as a canon from Afghanistan, a goose-foot pistol) plus other antiques (a postcard with the titanic with writing on the back advising someone that their aunt was 'saved').

I'm fairly good at research but I am just not unearthing who this person is or was?

Arthur Negus?

thanks @Ninninannanoonoo Just googled and it's not him, but thank you. The person I'm speaking of is more of a 'slight' gent. Recently saw him (on AR repeats with the presenter before Fiona) giving valuation and advice on a canon and goosefoot pistol.

Hugh Scully? Or there was an older 'cheery faced' man. Neither were slight though so I'm probably wrong.

Could you try asking the BBC on their website?

wellhelloyou · 13/04/2019 13:04

Hi all. No, not Hugh Scully but thanks @horsemadgal

I might try asking the BBC, just ridiculous I can't find this person, he seemed to be on every episode in the time pre-Fiona and I'm usually great at research, really bugging me! :-)

must be listed on \link{https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200325/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast\here}

wellhelloyou · 13/04/2019 13:25

thanks @ Processedpea I had seen the list but nothing jumped out. It was literally a case of having to copy and paste into google each male name so thought I'd try here first! :-)
