I found it an uncomfortable watch tonight. The wife in the couple seemed completely fed up and seething with silent rage the whole time! Or was she just quiet? I couldn’t decide!

Hi, was it a new episode?

greatandpowerfulozma · 07/04/2019 02:02

I thought it was new but maybe it was just new to me and a repeat.
They were an older couple, they had their bedside lamp attached to their bed frame with a cable tie and he had a little shelf in the inside of the wardrobe door to put his tea on.

Don’t worry I had a good laugh about it with my mum and sister just wanted to see what the mumsnet massive thought for fun.Grin

Was it the episode where the wife was called Pippa ?

beanaseireann · 09/04/2019 17:47

Yes it was Pippa- I agree OP. Spot on.
Very odd relationship. Did they have children together ?

greatandpowerfulozma · 09/04/2019 21:46

My terrible memory hasn’t remembered the wife’s name or if they had kids. If they did they’d flown the nest a while ago I think.

I just remember thinking goodness you’re miserable why don’t you leave him?? I felt for Kirsty and Phil looked awkward as anything.

I agree, I thought she was sadly very resigned to the fact that he could not see or be bothered about her needs from her own home. I felt very sad for her and Kirsty saw all that dynamic.

beanaseireann · 10/04/2019 07:16

When Kirsty bought Phil a drink at the end of the show - the tradition of loser buys the other presenter a round - one of them said "...... a lovely couple ..."
I was thinking Hmm!

greatandpowerfulozma · 10/04/2019 23:24

Maybe now thier house is more appealing to others they can just sell up and go their separate ways. Grin

Does anyone ever list it?

greatandpowerfulozma · 11/04/2019 13:28

This couple did Grin.

I can see why people don’t though after the upheaval of having your house renovated you wouldn’t want the faff of moving right afterwards. Well I wouldn’t. So Phil has the more difficult job I think.

I believe at one point Pippa mentioned 'His daughter' as if she wasn't her mum.
Maybe more a companionship marriage rather than a long lasting one?
