THE VOICE- It's THE FINAL! ****8.40pm**** It's taken a while to get here - but the big question is- will J-Hud keep her shoes on her feet?

Raahh · 06/04/2019 12:35

Bit late tonight- hope I am still awake Grin
I'm not sure I care who wins, now Cedric is out Sad

I think I'm going to root for Jimmy, I really don't like the other 3.

Will and J-Hud don't have any acts left, so we are spared one of Bill's very random duets this year, which is actually a bit of a shame Grin.
I'm sure J-Hud will not be stopped from singing though.

Ruti will be singing her new single.

Here are the song choices-

Deana Walmsley
New song: ‘Hometown Glory' by Adele
Duet with Sir Tom Jones: ‘I Believe’ by Frankie Laine

Bethzienna Williams
New song: ‘Call Out My Name’ by The Weeknd
Duet with Sir Tom Jones: ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’ by Nina Simone, The Animals

Jimmy Balito
New song: ‘The Best’ by Tina Turner
Duet with Olly Murs: 'All Right Now’ by Free

Molly Hocking
New song: ‘Someone You Loved’ by Lewis Capaldi
Duet with Olly Murs: ‘Stars’ by Simply Red

I have vodka. I need nibbles.

See y'all later

Ummm... I , too, like Jimmy. But what in fresh hell is he doing singing Tina Turner???

The duets with Olly could be painful.

I had a migraine last night (end of term exhaustion!) so no drink. I feel Wine will be required tonight.

Raahh · 06/04/2019 17:40

Piggy I sympathise re the migraines. I get quite a few, though the medication I take to prevent them is now the cause of the kidney stones I keep getting. I Hope you are feeling better today.

I have no idea why he's singing Tina Turner. It's a rubbish , dated song. There are so many millions of songs out there.

It's going to be awful, isn't it??

Nowthereistwo · 06/04/2019 18:00

Tina friggin Turner - that song won't help him

Raahh · 06/04/2019 18:04
Grin

It is indeed going to be awful.

I hope so, any way.

It's part of the fun. Grin

I feel like Jimmy has been sabotaged by the song choices.

Cedric definitely was, his song choice last week was just odd.

Well, DD (who is the driving force behind us watching the Voice chez Freezer) is away on an adventure weekend with school.

I suggested to DS that might watch the Voice anyway as our usual Saturday night routine, he made a combination of these faces ConfusedEnvy (not envy) with the sort of force only a fourteen year old can muster.

So I think we're watching a film instead. My bunting and I will be thinking of you all and your Suzuki Surprises.

Raahh · 06/04/2019 19:11

Freezer I will sound the Suzuki klaxon, as I'm sure the advert will make an appearance.

You won't be missing much. I'm watching out of habit. Grin

I was hoping for a BGT thread to tide me over but there doesn't seem to be one. Not up on thread starting etiquette so I'll just lurk around, waiting...

freezer, we will miss you!

nancy75 · 06/04/2019 19:48

Evening all, I was looking for bgt thread but can’t find it anywhere. Currently watching the worlds oldest looking 18 year old doing very high pitch opera

Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2019 19:49

Me too nancy!

BGT is a bit shit tonight : no surprises there!

These old 18 year olds get everywhere.

Raahh · 06/04/2019 19:51

FFS, I am going soft.
I'm watching the 'Altogether ...' thing on the Beeb.

For starters, the last act just did Beyonce 'Listen' one of my most hated , meandering songs.

But I LOVED her, because she was such as lovely woman- she came out, so unassuming, with a lovely husband (she said she was 'punching'- her husband looked a bit younger than her) , and I just thought- FFS, Raahh. you are going soft Grin

Still hate the song though.

nancy , who normally starts the BGT threads?? I feel like I shouldn't...

nancy75 · 06/04/2019 19:51

I’d be shocked to the core of it wasn’t shit! We missed the start, went to get fish & chips (going for the healthy option tonight Grin)
I seriously thought that girl was about 30

Raahh · 06/04/2019 19:52

I rarely watch BGT- and I turned over and saw the group of old blokes doing strange things to their nether regions and remembered why.

Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2019 19:52

I teach kids that age. She looks more like she should be one of their mums.

nancy75 · 06/04/2019 19:53

I don’t know who usually does the threads, I’m scared to start one in case I get told off for stepping on toes or being too mean

Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2019 19:55

Me too. Well, we'll just chat away here, I guess! Grin

raahh the nether regions men were just bizarre. I knew something was up when Welshmen came on stage in kilts.

Raahh · 06/04/2019 19:58

Piggy it was just ...odd.

And yes, the kilts rang alarm bells. Alesha said something about violins, but when I didn't see any, I knew something was amiss.

I'm afraid I didn't find it funny (humour bypassGrin), and I'm surprised at Simon's reaction.

So I turned over, and subjected myself to the All together nonsense insteadGrin.

Not a fan of magic & Elizabeth looks like one of the snooty mums at dd’s school so I’m struggling to find her scary

Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2019 19:59

She DOES look like a school run mum!! Spot on!

Raahh · 06/04/2019 20:00

So, this will be a very funny thread for a bit, whilst I witter about things y'all aren't watching.

Which is fineGrin

Piggywaspushed · 06/04/2019 20:01

Fine by me! Kind of describes my life.

Amanda is wearing a surprisingly covering frock. I rather like it. Even though blondes should not wear yellow.

nancy75 · 06/04/2019 20:02

Raahh, I can’t cope with that singing thing on BBC 1, I just hate them all

nancy75 · 06/04/2019 20:03

It’s gone all bullseye, you can win a caravan!
