Just watching the bbc doc. I remember watching the news when it was announced like it was yesterday.

Me too I was only 15. She definitely knew something. Saville?

LuxuryWoman2018 · 02/04/2019 21:31

Yes me too, It was shocking and seemed so random. Just a young woman going about her day with her wedding to look forward to.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 02/04/2019 21:32

Yes I am sure there was something on This Morning a few years ago about an investigator/ex policeman having a name of her killer.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 02/04/2019 21:32

I remember hearing the news so clearly, can't believe it's 20 years.

I'm actually finding this immensely sad in a way I didn't at the time, although I was totally shocked.

MrsPerfect12 · 02/04/2019 21:43

I was just a kid but watched crime watch with my parents so felt like I knew her (in my young mind) when she was murdered. I think the Savile line has been brought up before. I'll need to watch the documentary.

MrsPerfect12 · 02/04/2019 21:43

So if someone does have the name, why can they put it out there 🤷🏻‍♀️

megletthesecond · 02/04/2019 21:46

I think it was Saville related too. Whoever shot her knew what they were doing, it wasn't a random stalker.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2019 21:47

I was in 6th form. Seems like yesterday. She seemed such a genuinely nice person.

JaneEyre07 · 02/04/2019 21:47

I think there was far more to this story than has ever been made public. It's still shocking though, all this time on.

I've always felt a huge respect for her fiance. He was so dignified throughout.

Littlebird88 · 02/04/2019 21:47

I'm.finding it strange the BBC are doing a docu about this.. I know it's 20 years but there's no new info.

Littlebird88 · 02/04/2019 21:50

I don't understand people.asking she knew something .
she was a presenter paid to read an autocue. she wasn't a journalist or an investigator or programme maker.
makes no sense

Looks like the police are still convinced it was Barry George. I always suspected it was a hit. Can remember it like yesterday, it was so shocking.

Can you be more specific Romany, I can't follow what you're sayimg

meditrina · 02/04/2019 22:06

I remember people talking a lot about the Serbian revenge attack theory, but that always seemed too far fetched to me.

Someone becoming obsessed with her seemed much more likely.

(Assuming it was personal - not random (some attacks are))

Handofglory · 02/04/2019 22:07

I remember it clearly. Also remember this radio times back cover which seemed like a tragic coincidence

The murder of Jill Dando
Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2019 22:09

I remember that cover. Wasn't published the week before she died?

Longdistance · 02/04/2019 22:09

Anyone remember Savilles interview with Louis Theroux when he said ‘ I know some very dangerous people’?

OhTheRoses · 02/04/2019 22:10

It might not have been a man.. It's always assumed a killer must be a man.
