Workin’ Moms - Netflix (spoilers!)

Has anyone else seen this? I have just really enjoyed watching season 1. It reminded me a bit of the Letdown which was also really good, but this was interesting as it focused on work and also there was some quite dark stuff. Would love to chat if anyone else has seen it, no one I know has watched it!

I thought it was brilliant- waiting for season 2 to show up on Netflix

I thought the way they handled the abortion was really interesting (and also probably quite realistic for some). They had it simply because they didn’t want another child. You don’t often see that on TV, a woman (and partner of course) making the decision and not beating themselves up about it. Though of course maybe series 2 will show repercussions, also maybe repercussions of Kate leaving Montreal. Will she go back? It might be a bit simplistic if she did as i life the idea of a character being unapologetically career oriented!

I thought the abortion was handled well. He family dynamics ( horrid pre teen) was on point. The character that spiralled a little into post partum was interesting too.

I really ejoyed this, was disappointed that we have to wait for season 2. I also liked the letdown, binged that one in a day, again, waiting for the next season!

I like how it covers serious topics like abortion, pnd and the family dynamics, but is also funny and doesn't take itself too seriously. They all have lovely houses too.

I know right - serious kitchen envy!

Very similar to Motherland (bbc) but set in Canada. Enjoying it. Easy watching.

I thought it was great, much better than Motherland which just felt a bit full of lazy stereotypes and jokes you could see coming a mile off.

I really hope we get a season 2.

Yes... it definitely more real and each character isn't too stereotypes unlike motherland.

I've just started watching this tonight. I think it's great! Seems very honest

I just watched this to the point in the 1st episode where Kate scares the grizzly bear off in the park

Bloody silly. I'm out.

I really enjoyed it too, was well written.

I like that it has older kids and not just babies.

I thought the bear scene in ep 1 was ridiculous too and finished it thinking what a load of shit but then carried on as I had nothing else to watch and the rest of the series was completely 100% better and that one scene was so random and not a great opener for the series.
The red head therapist is my fav, v similar to my parenting!

It's a double edge sword when you can immediately get on with a show, as I go through them like a tube of pringles.

I also liked the therapist and I also loved the inappropriate colleague who is always sitting on the edge of someone else's desk.

I still sell DVDs am single live in S.East U.K. random choice like Holidays. I have got no young ones yet?

Very weird, uneven tone and nothing even remotely relatable about the situations. Didn't crack a smile once. It's a pass from me.
