I really enjoyed it. It made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

Yes, me. I was just about to start a thread about it!

I thought it was quality, classy casting, acting and writing and enjoyed it very much. Shame it's a bit buried at 9.45pm....

It was funny and witty and achieved a finely tuned balance between realism and comedy. But most of all. it was entertaining! Pete being taken off for questioning for possible payment for people smuggling was especially funny. And Marmite was hilarious.

The awful Warren (Martin Clunes' new comedy) is irritating, boring and dreadful. Alan Partridge is just too cringy and boring. Watched them once, never again....

florentina1 · 06/03/2019 10:49

Glad it is not just me then. I am going to watch it again. The sharp dialogue reminded me of the early days Modern Family. I don’t know what has happened to that, it is looking so tired.

I really enjoyed this, it was quite moving without being schmaltzy.

youngestisapsycho · 06/03/2019 13:54

I really enjoyed it... great hour with Derry Girls on before

Deathraystare · 06/03/2019 14:26

Yes I did enjoy Home and the Derry Girls - which I hadn't seen before. Although the girls spoke so fast I couldn't always understand what they said!

TwitterQueen1 · 06/03/2019 14:33

Had to give up on Derry Girls unfortunately - another one here who just couldn't understand what they were saying.

florentina1 · 06/03/2019 14:35

Subtitles are great but sometimes they even speak to fast for them.

Yes thought was good and cleverly done

OneToThree · 07/03/2019 14:39

Thought it was great too. The man who plays the boyfriend actually wrote it. I really liked him in Camping too.

TwitterQueen1 · 07/03/2019 14:51

He's called Rufus Jones. He was plugging this on Sunday Brunch the week before last, and also on BBC Breakfast last Friday, where they showed the Marmite clip. I love Marmite but my mouth was doing all sorts of weird things when Sammi ate that teaspoon!

OneToThree · 07/03/2019 18:22

Me too, yuk! Grin

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 07/03/2019 18:27

OneToThree is Camping worth watching? Saw the trailer and wasn't sure. Did he write that as well?

Bowbridge · 07/03/2019 18:29

Oh, I loved it! Funny and poignant at the same time. My teenage son loved Outnumbered and I think will love this too, especially the head in the back of the boot part at the start.

OneToThree · 07/03/2019 19:22

Camping, UK version is written by Julia Davis. It’s brilliant if you love her style of humour (dark and wrong on so many levels 😂).
The US version I didn’t take to at all.

LondonBelongsToMe · 07/03/2019 19:25

LOVED IT. Between that, Derry Girls, Fleabag and now Deutschland 86 on tonight, we are having a good crop of telly (A. Partridge deliberately excluded from this list)

OneToThree · 07/03/2019 19:29

Agree about AP, not good at all.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 08/03/2019 16:44

Ooh I love Julia Davis! Will definitely check out the UK version.

TwitterQueen1 · 12/03/2019 22:04

Channel 4 now! Episode 2 is living up to the expectations set in Ep1. This is very funny.

Absofruitly · 13/03/2019 10:43

I'm really enjoying this as a topper to the great night of telly that Tuesday has become. I hope others happen across it after watching 'Derry Girls' as I fear it might become buried and forgotten otherwise, as it's a quieter, subtler piece of writing, from the fabulous Rufus Jones, who was always my favourite on 'W1A' and was also excellent in 'Stan and Ollie' recently.
Loved the bit in the newsagent last night with the spot-on precis of UK newspapers' allegiances – superb bit of writing.

TwitterQueen1 · 13/03/2019 11:22

Tuesdays are causing TV-watching problems here Wink. Have to watch Celeb Bake Off, which means we can't watch Shetland on the night... plus DD went to the gym and was late back, which meant we couldn't fit in Line Of Duty Season 2 before bake off.... (watching all series of LoD on Netflix before the new one on Mother's Day).

Home deserves a) a more engaging title and b) to be on at prime time. I also loved the newspapers and the 'shades of brown faces conversation' and having to pretend to be a Muslim... Grin

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/03/2019 11:28

Yes I loved it too! Quite sad at last nights ending. But absolutely brilliant writing. I love it when a writer can write a role for themselves and make themselves such a dislikeable character like peter in this. It’s so funny. No arrogance on ten writers part there at all like some others do when they write their own character.

TwitterQueen1 · 02/04/2019 22:58

Another excellent episode tonight
The pasta wasn't gluten free!!!! Grin [grin ]Grin

John giving Peter the belt was very touching.

TwitterQueen1 · 17/04/2019 22:41

Where the bloody hell have Ch4 moved this to?
I missed last week's episode and had to catch up and I'm assuming there is an ep6? If so, WHERE IS IT?!

BitOfFun · 17/04/2019 22:47

Oh be just looked it up, TQ, as the t sounds right up my street- there is definitely an episode six!
