That film on Saturday night, I think ITV or Ch4, with Heath Ledger about a low born man who becomes a jousting champion? Paul Bettany had a mad role in it too. Dh and I watched half in hysterics and half open mouthed in disbelief. Who on earth thought that one up?

A Knights Tale - loosely based on Chaucer! Very very loosely.....

Went to see it at the cinema with BF on a girls night out and feel head over heels in lust with Heath Ledger. Sad to say I have it on DVD and have watched it a few times ( and made DH watch it too!)

SoupDragon · 07/09/2004 21:15

We saw it on Sky I think. Fantastic!! Great soundtrack too!

JJ · 07/09/2004 21:17

Ooooh, we have it. I love Paul Bettany. There are great deleted scenes if you get the DVD.

lydialemon · 07/09/2004 21:18

Getting the urge to watch it now

What a quandry, CSI or Heath?

JJ · 07/09/2004 21:20

Ooh, I miss CSI, too. You can rent Paul (!!) but you can't rent CSI.

I really enjoyed it! Not my usual type of film, and I was totally NOT attracted to Heath Ledger, but never mind. Had that 'Where have I seen him before' feeling about Paul B all through the film, and was sooooo relieved that Google delivered the goods!

moomina · 07/09/2004 21:55

Love Paul Bettany. He's in that new Wimbledon film too (which will be crap, of course, but will watch it anyway)

Lonelymum · 08/09/2004 11:23

Heath Ledger was Mel Gibson's oldest son in The Patriot which I know was slated by critics but I really liked. Family man defending his kids - great stuff.
Glad to find some other Paul Bettany fans too. I only recently saw him for the first time in Master and Commander. Dh thinks I fancied Russell Crowe from that film - I did admire his performance but not him! However, PB really blew me away. Odd, because he is not my type physically at all. What is ti about him?

By the way, can someone enlighten me: who is CSI?

Sorry to but in ladies.........
CSI is not a person but a programe crime scene investigation.........american a bit like waking the dead.....well sort of, lots of gooooooooood looking men in it!
Think Grisham is attractive in an moody older man type of way...........Then theres warick good if you like tall fit coloured men!......then theres another one who I cant remember his name but a nice bit of eye candy so to speak.....................

It's very good and I highly recomend it the story lines arn't bad either ...lol

moomina · 08/09/2004 18:35

Lonelymum - I think he's quite charismatic. Not a gorgeous-looking guy, particularly (I never go for blonds!) but has a great screen presence. You have to look at him when he's there, IYKWIM.

Lonelymum · 08/09/2004 18:52

I thought the same Moomina. What else has he been in so I can catch some more of the charisma?!

Check outthis site

And ignore what I said about not particularly good-looking...have changed my mind lol!

Lonelymum · 08/09/2004 19:12

That explains a lot. He hasn't exactly been in much that I would be likely to see. Interesting that the part of Chaucer was written specifically for him. As for good looking.........no, he still doesn't do it for me but I am not into blonds.....
