I thought I would make a new thread quickly seeing that the first one is nearly full

Please tell me I'm not the only one who keeps misreading Abakhan as Azkabhan.

Where did I leave that Hippogriff?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 08/03/2019 21:49

For days now I've been wandering onto this thread, finding it a bit weird, deciding to check it later and then finding it even weirder. I love you all, but you are WEIRD. Grin

dontcallmelen · 08/03/2019 22:01

Freezer me too.

SoupDragon · 09/03/2019 09:26

That's a great article :)

FreezerBird · 09/03/2019 11:14

It is, thanks for the link.

I reckon Esme would be up for a haberdashery sleepover.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 09/03/2019 13:35

Oh thank goodness, normality has resumed. Now I don't have to ask the difficult questions, like why you would go to so much effort to stalk someone who has only lied about hinted at a slight connection to Patrick, when it would be so much easier to just go direct to stalking Patrick himself. Grin

dontcallmelen · 09/03/2019 16:59

Damm it BlackAmerciano has pointed out an obvious flaw in our detecting method😳

SoupDragon · 09/03/2019 18:43

But she also said I was lying...

GoldenKelpie · 09/03/2019 18:49

To digress a little bit, is anyone else going to the Glasgow SECC Craft Fair tomorrow (Sunday)? I've never been before, is it going to be a bit overwhelming? I will be looking for latch-hook related stuff...

Fontella · 09/03/2019 22:39

Well you learn summit every day!

Reading that article about Esme ... I never knew they were called 'sewists'.

SoupDragon · 10/03/2019 09:03

I think it's changed from sewers over the last few years so that they dont look like they are part of the drainage system.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/03/2019 12:57

Well Waspfans, you've all got me inspired and today I have started making a sleeveless blouse for me for the summer. It has taken me two hours to cut out, do the darts and sew fronts to backs (the easy bits). Currently musing which way round the collar goes. I shall NOT be applying to Sewing Bee.

TheSassyAssassin · 10/03/2019 16:37

We will obviously need the requisite picture Fuzzy Smile

2rebecca · 10/03/2019 21:01

Just catching up with this. I hate pets in clothes and neoprene for tracksuits? No, it's totally nonbreathable. Currently trying to make a chiffon silk garment. Think they should make them use that. Disappointed a neoprene tracksuit won. Our local sewing shop has hired a local venue for the final. Will have to buy a ticket. Cocktails sewing and we all have to wear home made garments

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/03/2019 19:19

Just on the off chance that any of you are

a) online and

b) interested

Amanda Butchart (the Fashion Historian - talk about a dream job!) is on Channel 4 at 7.30 - they are repeating her series "A Stitch In Time".

It's excellent! I've set the telly to record the series.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/03/2019 19:22

Yes - I learned the hard way. Confused

dontcallmelen · 11/03/2019 19:28

Thanks Schadey will have a look.
Yy sewers yup me too, must remember to hose down boiler suit/wellies/mask/gloves.

What time is it on?

BitOfFun · 12/03/2019 19:25

A Stitch In Time is on BBC4. I've put it on a series link to record.

Fontella · 12/03/2019 19:45

I am here and I have wine.

Grin

Don't usually drink midweek, but it's been one of those days, so come 9pm the telly is going on, the feet are going up and the wine is being poured.

SoMuchToBits · 12/03/2019 19:53

I also have Wine. But I have the week off work so can justify it!

I have made progress with the skirt I'm making today. My friend who was round this morning was very impressed, so I had to point out on the pattern envelope that it said "VERY EASY" and that I only make VERY EASY things! Grin Looking forward to seeing some more complicated stuff on the Sewing Wasp this evening.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/03/2019 19:57

I finished my blouse! But it is not a bit like the fab green dress on Stitch in Time. I'll make that tomorrow. ;)
