I absolutely loved My Family and Other Animals when I read it first at aged 12. I read it again and again, and it is one of my favourite books.
However, I find the TV adaptation absolutely ridiculous and such a disappointment. It's just a sort of silly pantomime. A lot of the events never took place, it is poorly acted and just silly. I gave up watching it, but tonight turned it on by mistake, and was reminded again how awful it is. Am I alone in finding it to be absolute drivel?

I've not watched the repeats, but I quite liked it when it was first on.
Simple, Sunday evening television - easy to watch, pleasant, non-offensive, but - like most 'Sunday evening television' completely unrealistic and nonsensical if you are a stickler for detail.
