I like sci-fi and fantasy and dystopian stuff.
I've watched the following and really enjoyed it:
Doctor Who, Once Upon A Time, Orphan Black, Continuum, Sanctuary, Dirk Gently, Merlin, IT Crowd, Community, Shannara Chronicles, 3%, Disenchantment, Stranger Things (but it was a bit scary), The Let-down.

Tried the following and NOT enjoyed it (too grim, violent, sexual, or boring): Grimm, Terra Nova, BattleStar Galactica, Star Trek, Arrow, Bojack Horsemen, Rick and Morty (absolute garbage that one), The 100 (too gory and depressing), Misfits (too much sex and violence), Good Girls.

So... Any recommendations?

Comic book/fantasy stuff: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

I watched the original series with Melissa Joan Hart and this was a whole different kettle of fish! Dark and mysterious - deliciously so. Got a small crush on Father Blackwood.

Once Upon A Time was good but I stopped watching after Henry grew up.. Got bored 😕

FairyMoppings · 12/02/2019 15:06

Dark was good (subtitled though, as its in German)

I enjoyed Ozark (some mild infrequent sex and violence, but nothing overly explicit or gratuitious)

LimitIsUp · 12/02/2019 15:11

I can't possibly advise you since you dissed Grimm Shock Shock Shock

LimitIsUp · 12/02/2019 15:12

Although I can't help but comment on Plink's suggestion of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - excellent

2019Dancerz · 12/02/2019 15:14

Russian doll. Loved it

Ellabella989 · 12/02/2019 15:16

Grimm is the best program ever!!!
Zoo is good. So is Helix, Salvation, Shadow Hunters, 12 Monkeys and The innocents. There’s a new one called Nightflyers which is getting good reviews too but I haven’t seen it

Processedpea · 12/02/2019 15:23

the dark

IdogMax · 12/02/2019 15:26

Colony, I’ve just binge watched the first two seasons and am eagerly awaiting the next one.

PRoseLegend · 12/02/2019 16:40

I liked Grimm at first, but the hexenbeast and the poisoned cat episode just made me so anxious I couldn't keep watching.
I did watch the first season, but honestly I couldn't stand the main character's girlfriend, she seems so fake.

W - Two Worlds Korean drama.. subtitled but very creative story and amazingly gorgeous to watch...
girl gets pulled into webtoon (Comic book) world which her father created... and meets the main character who doesn't realise he's fictional...

LimitIsUp · 13/02/2019 16:18

I watched an episode of Zoo today (on Ellabella's recommendation) and it was promising. Worth a try OP - doesn't appear to be too gory, violent etc but is quite interesting

Racecardriver · 13/02/2019 16:25

Sabrina is a must
Velvet hacksaw may also be ofbinterest.

DecumusScotti · 13/02/2019 17:00

I liked the first series of Zoo a lot - haven’t seen the second series yet. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and the stealth rhino in the opening credits cracks me up every time.

Z Nation might be another possibility. There’s some violence, but it’s mostly played for laughs.

Ellabella989 · 13/02/2019 17:02

Definitely check out the next few series of Zoo as it gets better and better

Lightofday · 13/02/2019 17:06

Big budget Korean drama/zombie horror. Best thing Netflix have made in a while.
