Jellykat · 09/02/2019 23:30

Oh great, thought it was just me!

Yes, Samcro, i watched that too.. so many clips and stories i'd never seen or heard before, it was brilliant!

Samcro · 09/02/2019 23:32

i was amazed by it. so much I didn't know

Jellykat · 09/02/2019 23:36

Did you see that bit about his first Glasto, when he just played by himself first thing in the morning? i.e before he really cracked it..
I also liked 'meeting' Hermione, never seen her before.. it was always such a beautiful song for her.

i know, if only he had know how big he would be.
I have to say the glastonbury concert is the best (and I saw him live , serious moonlighting tour) he is at his best imo.

Jellykat · 09/02/2019 23:43

OMG I saw him during the serious moonlight tour too, at Milton Keynes bowl!

His voice in this is really strong and he seems chilled and happy, i'd agree he was at his best here.

Aww, no encore shown...Sad

Titsywoo · 09/02/2019 23:58

What year was that? I was at Glastonbury in 2000 but I didn't watch him play! I was probably pissed and hanging out with morons. Stupid early 20s me! :(

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 00:04

Pretty sure it was 2000! You missed out Titsy..
Mind you i was the same when i saw him, spent most of the time 'coming down' and sitting on the floor! timed that badly!

Jellykat I was there
I remember it took hours to get out of the car park, but he was amazing

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 00:19

Well what a coincidence Samcro!
Didn't Icehouse support? .. Now you mention it, yes seem to remember the car park nightmare.

we were most likely in the bar (if there was one........i was so young I don't remember.) i just remember it being a long day. but he was on for ages. a real showman.
then hours and what seemed like hours to get back to surrey.

ZiggyStardusters · 10/02/2019 00:30

Another Milton Keynes bowler here- fantastic concert! Was it 1983 or 1984? I"m having a Bowie weekend. Saw Holy Holy last night. That's the band with Woody Woodmansey and Tony Visconti. They sang 'the nan who sold the world' and 'the rise & fall of ziggy stardust' in their entirety (Glenn Gregory from heaven 17 was on vocals). ''Twas fab!

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 00:30

You didnt miss much Icehouse wise.. we were eating a huge picnic while they were on, starving 'cos we'd been up since 6.00, as it used to take soo long getting make up on and perfecting vertical hair Grin Those were the days!

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 00:34

Aww Ziggy, another Milton Keynes bowler! Fab
Glenn Gregorys voice was always fantastic! Hope he did both songs justice..and he still has his wicked grin!

I was at that gig at Milton Keynes too jellycat! Very fab memory. I've still got the tour shirt.

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 20:31

Wow Pennina what are the chances, 4 of us at the same gig presumably from all over the UK.. and fair play for still having the tee, thats a wonderful treasure for sure! Envy

I too was at the Milton Keynes gig! And I watched the documentary lost night. I have met quite a few people since who randomly were also at the same gig.

LilyRose88 · 10/02/2019 20:55

last night!

ethelredonagoodday · 10/02/2019 21:52

Watching it now. The documentary was amazing. Holy holy played close to me Friday night, but couldn't make it, and was suitably gutted!!

Jellykat · 10/02/2019 21:55

How bizarre! Presumably MK couldnt have been the only UK venue on that tour!? So glad to have seen him once in my lifetime! Smile
