THE VOICE- And it's the penultimate week of auditions- but which acts will have (sole) soul? ***8pm Sat 9th February***

Only one week left after this, and then the judges can start getting rid of the acts they are already regretting turning forGrin.

Place your bets on how soon into the show J-Hud will chuck a shoe? Or sing. Both will happen. Grin

I have no idea how many acts each judge has, but no doubt we are leading up to the false tension of Will.i.am taking half of next week's show to deliberate over his last slot. Grin.

Tonight, chez Raahh, we are having a Chinese takeaway. I will save y'all some prawn crackers.

It's a plot point in Moonlight that black men don't swim.

My family is American and lots of the men don't swim. Sadly, I had a cousin who drowned as a child when he fell into a pool and couldn't swim. Sad

I was trying to be delicate about it as it's a stereotype but it wouldn't have become one if there wasn't a lot of truth to it.

Piggywaspushed that’s very sad. I had no idea that low numbers of Americans learnt to swim, we took Dd from when she was a baby ( mainly because Dp was so insistent - everyone in Oz learns to swim from a young age)

Yes, agreed. It's not just the black population to be fair. Lots of working class Americans have no access to water / the sea/ a pool. Crazy all the stuff they do do but don't learn to swim.

It would add a whole new dimension to this bit.

We wouldn't have to wait for the really obvious mis-matched pairings in the battles, to see who they wish they hadn't picked!

Maybe we could cut down the time by only allowing 3 regrets per season - that would be even more insulting to the singers that got the regret button

The public services are really underfunded so Community Swimming Baths that are plenty/routine here don't exist so there's no local leisure centre for the schools to access.

Add on to that if you do have a pool it's likely that's because you can afford a private members gym or are rich enough to own one.

Swimming is a rich people sport over there which seems so odd here.

Just looked it up :about 20% of British adults can't swim . 56% of American adults can't swim!
