I didn't understand how the mocked up shooter thing in the anti guns school was meant to reassure.

Said to DP that this is just asking for an unarmed kid to be shot in the classroom, not in an ‘active shooter’ situation.
Or worse a child who does not have access to guns being able to steal one from a teacher and shoot others.

Its a very bleak and interesting watch, Its not in my opinion a good idea buut, I can understand and empathise that the pro gun camp are like so are we supposed to be sitting ducks or what??? . Im so annoyed with the powers that be, pass some gun laws already.

Jon Sopel wrote a book about the US called 'If Only They Didn't Speak English'. The whole point it that we think they shoudl be like us because of a shared langauge. And he shows us how - in so many ways- we cannot expect them to be.

Even that ad about the drug dealers was so alien to us.

My DSis is a cop in the US, my cousin a teacher. I leave the shooting to my DSis (although I'd rather not.

This is by no means fact but just from the news/tv programs I’ve watched isn’t it usually Americans who attack the schools??

It is chilling, and not the answer, guns do not belong in schools. Tighter gun control is needed, taking away the constitutional right for Americans to carry guns. Cooper is an amazing and inspirational young man, speaks more sense than those gun loving crazies.

I’m watching this now. It’s about power and emotions. They are never a good mix. It’s a shame Coopers Dad swears so much. It dilutes his argument. At least home schooling is an option for Americans.

I think the swearing rather reveals his fury and frustration.

So the motivation for home schooling is to protect kids form a high school shooter? Wow.

Fairly sure most fatal American mass shootings are domestic incidents.
