Anyone else watched this yet? New Netflix show. Groundhog dayesque.

Ad looked good... have you watched yet?

Cherrypi · 02/02/2019 21:25

First two episodes. It’s really good. I just saw Natasha Lyonne and thought I’ll try it without reading anything.

youngestisapsycho · 02/02/2019 22:51

Thanks, will give it a go.

spinyffud · 03/02/2019 16:29

I’m on final episode. Really good acting, sound track and quirky! Love it!

ParadiseLaundry · 03/02/2019 21:23

I started to get a bit bored at episode 3 but I'm so pleased I persevered! If anyone is wondering if they should give it a go it's quite similar to the Good Place and Santa Clarita Diet.

Choccywoccyhooha · 04/02/2019 00:30

So good. Apparently semi-autobiographical on Natasha Lyonne's part too (though probably not the multiple deaths). I think I've watched 3 or 4 episodes so far and I had to stop so as not to finish it too quickly.

BigFatBloomers · 04/02/2019 00:34

Ha - we’ve just watched 5 back to back!

Didn’t think I liked it at first as she’s not a particularly pleasant character but it really pulls you in. Also on 24 minute episodes. What’s not to love!

ParadiseLaundry · 04/02/2019 17:49

This is probably because I'm pregnant and emotional but I felt really sorry for Alan Sad and him eating his little cake out of the little boxes.

I'll look back at this post in a few months and realise how ridiculous I was Grin

BigFatBloomers · 05/02/2019 11:27

And the amount of single use plastic @ParadiseLaundry! (My emotions were never them same after kids. Have been known frequently to cry at adverts)

Finished the series last night. Now not sure how I feel. Anyone else finished it? I need to discuss.

Cherrypi · 05/02/2019 12:02

Finished it this morning. Loved it. Just my cup of tea.

BigFatBloomers · 05/02/2019 13:21

@Cherrypi were you happy with the ending? I was left feeling a little unsatisfied but I can’t see where else they could have gone.

Cherrypi · 05/02/2019 13:35

Yes I liked it and they both were wearing their latest clothes so they both were back to knowing everything.

OP posts:
ParadiseLaundry · 05/02/2019 15:07

@BigFatBloomers that occurred to me too. I'll be crying about that next Grin

I liked the ending. Is there meant to be a second series? I'm not sure where they could go with it. Although it might be nice to have a bit more of an explanation as to what exactly was going on. And what happened to her ex boyfriend John? He just seemed to disappear.

jay55 · 05/02/2019 16:19

I really enjoyed it.

During the parade at the end did the two timelines merge back into one? Natasha Lyonne really is a whirlwind of an actor, must have been utterly exhausting to carry the show in the way she did.

No idea how they can do a season 2.

Cherrypi · 05/02/2019 16:46

I thought so I might have to rewatch and check. Yes they did. She directed the last episode too and wrote some of it.

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimall · 06/02/2019 11:16

Did anyone notice a third possible Nadia at the end? It was just the back of her, pushing through the opposite direction that the parade was going in.

Really hope there's another series. Love Natasha Lyonne, she was brilliant in this.

BigFatBloomers · 06/02/2019 11:33

I thought the way they’d changed their clothes so we could identify which version of them it was, was cleverly done.

I thought the other Nadia we saw the back of was the past one that Alan had just saved. Wasn’t it? I may have to rewatch the ending too.

Did Horse just turn out to be nothing special? I thought that was the point of seeing him taking Alan’s stuff and meeting up with his friends but then what did the parade signify?

What else has Natasha Lyonne done? What is worth watching?

I guess you could do another series if you took a couple of different people in the same situation. Otherwise I’m not sure where you could go with it.

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimall · 06/02/2019 13:28

I thought the other Nadia we saw the back of was the past one that Alan had just saved

Just rewatched it. There's actually two Nadias that we see the back of. They're both wearing coats with the Nadia who knows everything and the Alan who knows everything facing forward.

No idea what it means now.

BigFatBloomers · 06/02/2019 17:51

Ooh! Could go anywhere...

Whatsallthisaboutthen · 06/02/2019 17:59

I absolutely loved it. NL is brilliant (she’s in Orange is the New Black BigFatBloomers)

BigFatBloomers · 06/02/2019 22:40

Ah, I haven’t watched that. Should I? NL might be enough to tempt me.

BartonHollow · 06/02/2019 22:43

I've finished this really enjoyed it but thought it was really sad that Nadia and Alan ended up with versions of the other that didn't remember their experience

Also interested in HOW autobiographical the none fantasy elements are as they are purported to be

mytieisascarf · 07/02/2019 00:26

Was nice to see Dasha Palanco and NL in a scene together outside of OITNB.

ZenNudist · 07/02/2019 00:30

It was enjoyable if bizarre. Liked the ending but wouldnt welcome season 2.

MoonriseKingdom · 07/02/2019 09:19

I wondered (and am probably wrong) if they still need to try and fix things. She said towards the end we need to fix the code and do a test run to see if it works. Maybe this is not the perfect article and they need to merge the timelines??

I really loved this and keep listening to the song Smile
