Watching the box set of this series from ?1978 on STV player. Geraldine McEwan is brilliant. It's strange how my view of Miss Brodie has changed over time. As a teenager I thought she was inspiring. Now I think she's a dangerous self obsessed narcissist. An excellent series if you've a few hours to spare and don't mind the adverts

Oh gosh yes I remember that. IIRC they intended for it to run for several series so they could do the whole story but I guess it didn't make the viewing figures because I don't remember a second series.

There was a film about 10 years before that with Maggie Smith as Jean Brodie.

I have the book at home somewhere. Miss Jean Brodie is definitely a dangerous piece of work.

My friends ex wife went to the school that film is based on. She said it's fairly accurate! Damaged her for life apparently.
