Just curious really!?

I would love to go on tipping point or the chase but I'm too chicken to go on TV!! 😫

Has anyone been on a TV gameshow and what have you won?

Or maybe they just hire actors... 🥴

The kids want me to go on tipping point and DH on the Chase.

Having not seen daytime TV for years this enforced downtown has been an eye opener lol

MessyMummy15 · 24/01/2019 19:12

Haha The chase is probably the only thing I watch on telly as I turn off CBeebies at dinner time!!!
At home I'm a right smug cat getting quite a few answers right but I know if I actually went on It would be more like...

Presenter: "what's your name?"
Me: "er... er... pass!" 😂😂

I had an audition for the chase, but clearly wasn't interesting or clever enough to get on the show!

KeepCalm · 24/01/2019 20:50

What did you have to do @thenewaveragebear1983 if you don't mind me asking?

Cooroo · 24/01/2019 21:31

I did 15 to 1 20 years ago!

polkadotpixie · 24/01/2019 21:35

I also had an audition for The Chase and also didn't get on 😂

I know 2 people who have been on it though, although they didn't win any money

twoheaped · 24/01/2019 21:37

100k drop.
I started filling tge online application in. Last but was film a 30sec clip. Nah, I hate selfies and the like, so abandoned the process. About 2 weeks later, got a phone call asking us to go for an audition. We got selected and screen tested, filmed 2 weeks after that.
Won nothing.
You fill in a questionnaire, fave film, music etc. The questions are tailored to your answers. Eg. Fave singer is Dolly Parton, you'll get a question about ACDC.
Wouldn't do it again.

Ex won the weakest link £3,000.
Always thought it would be more, but he loved it.

SanFranBear · 24/01/2019 21:38

I got on The Chase... ask me anything!

hatethinkingofusernames · 24/01/2019 21:42

I was on the chase!

icantthinkofanotherone · 24/01/2019 21:42

I've been in the audience at couple. It does tend to lose the magic somewhat as you are there for hours and there's so much faffing around between takes (and re-takes). Things aren't always recorded in the right order either, so it is a bit disjointed.

hatethinkingofusernames · 24/01/2019 21:45

I applied in March, they phone you have a phone interview and then a quiz then if you pass you got to an audition which is just talking about yourself and answering questions then some more phone chats. Then I filmed in July and was shown in November. They say it's usually a year or 2 from applying to getting on the show. It was fun! I'm quite ditzy and made a big fool out of myself 🙈

hatethinkingofusernames · 24/01/2019 21:47

@icantthinkofanotherone I know what you mean I tend not to watch the filming now. The chase doesn't have an audience but it was all done in one take

icantthinkofanotherone · 24/01/2019 21:54

How interesting that they ask you loads of questions about yourself and your favourites/things you are good at.

I've always wondered if they did that - now I know. If I ever apply to go one one, I'll make it all up Grin and then hopefully if they think I'm a whizz on sport or soapstars I'll get questions about gardening, ballet and ox-bow lakes instead!

MessyMummy15 · 27/01/2019 11:48

Ooh didn't see all these replies!!
I always had a sneaking feeling they did that with the questions and now I know!!
Another one id love to try is the cube but the pressure would be too much I think haha

DP and I love Pointess and would be ace at it (if I didn't go to pieces under the pressure, which I 100% would) - but no, I hate the thought of being on TV, so it ain't likely to happen Grin
