I've got a little hooked on this today and watched 3 episodes. Anyone else watching?

Oooh. I'll look out for that one. I'm home all next week and the weather is forecast to be shite. Grin

I've finished 'You' so I need something new.

ferniepoos · 18/01/2019 21:03

It's definitely not the same ball park as You, which I really liked. It's mindless reality TV, but I found it quite intriguing. Particularly Erik. What an arse!

I don't mind reality tv such as real housewives (OC, NYC and BH).

GentlyGentlyOhDear · 18/01/2019 23:37

Just started watching this tonight and am hooked. Yes Erik is awful!!

ferniepoos · 19/01/2019 00:39

He's horrible, isn't he! And as the series goes on his further bastard behaviour darkens. She's so beautiful and lovely, I just can't think why Lauren tolerated him for six whole years!

Two of the guys Erik and Jeremy? Were complete an utter bell ends. The older guy I found quite creepy at first, but seemed sincere enough.

I've finished the series now. Let me know your thoughts when you do too. X

I like Jeremy. And while I thought Meg was very beautiful I couldn't help but think that she was the reason they would never work... too high maintenance!
The old guy was lovely. He put up with some crap from his woman (can't remember her name) and genuinely seemed to adore her. My favourites were the young pair though... so cute. Who says that puppy love never lasts?!

I'm on to episode 3 and don't want any of them to stay together apart from the older couple. They are really sweet but it hasn't been mentioned if they have actually discussed what would happen practically if they got together.

Reminds me of the 7 year itch programme on channel 4 that I loved too

LonelyandTiredandLow · 19/01/2019 22:06

Erik and Jeremy were nobbers. Jeremy at the end showed up what I suspected all along - I just wanted him to leave her alone - she took stick from him all the way through. The blonde gf of the young lad was quite abrupt too.

Erik had a cruel mouth. Agree she was far too nice to be with him for so long. I think she did well out of the show though Grin.

jocsin · 20/01/2019 20:26

Yes, so satisfying when she told Erik they were over and done with for good. He was a total bellend.
Felt very sorry for Meg when Jeremy's friends laid in to her and he stood gormlessly by and left her to deal with it. That was a dick move.
But on the whole I pretty much liked everyone on the programme except for Erik. They need to make more series!

darksideofthemooncup · 21/01/2019 16:10

The older lady with the dark hair looked like Andi McDowell, I found her hard to warm to but really liked her partner, I do hope they have married and it's all going well for them. Eryk was a totally knob and so cringe

jocsin · 21/01/2019 20:09

Yes, she did actually! She was pretty attractive and in good shape, but I really started to dislike her when it came to her insane reaction over the kitchen counter. She will probably hen peck the fuck out of him, but I've got a feeling he won't mind one bit. He clearly adored her.

peterpainauchocolat · 21/01/2019 21:07

Oh hooray I found a thread! I binge watched this and loved it, such gripping nonsense.

SPOILERS AHEAD.

I was so pleased Erik got turned down in the end by his ex. Do you think she just went on it for a laugh? You could tell she was repulsed by him. Understandably so, what was all that eating over the sink about?! What a psycho. And they never had sex in their origninal relationship? WEIRD. No wonder they had no chemistry. Really liked cam for sticking up to him in the pub.

I googled updates and unsurprisingly none of them are still together. Cam/Kate had such an imbalance of power, he was really sweet but you could tell she needed someone with a bit more about them. Their flirting was SO naff and cringe bless them.

The older couple-as if that distance was ever gonna work. And he was being a bit pathetic with her and seemed to have her on a pedestal, she seemed pretty hard work but I sensed she'd had a really lazy irritating ex which made her so neurotic about the bloody work top.

Meg could do so much better than Jeremy, he had a really manipulative way of arguing with her.

Anyway, clearly I'm overinvested but I watched it all in about 3 days Blush

jocsin · 21/01/2019 21:27

None of them still together?! How depressing. Sad

LeonoraFlorence · 24/01/2019 21:32

Lauren does have a boyfriend now though (thankfully not Erik!).

RhubarbTea · 28/01/2019 22:47

I have also just binge watched this over a few days and loved it. Was so depressed when I realised none of them stayed together.

I felt sad for Meg and Jeremy as there was a connection there clearly and he did love her I think, but they both suffered from being extremely immature and both need to give their heads a wobble and grow up.

As someone who has got back with 4 exes I can say it's pretty much universally a bad plan. People don't tend to change all that much and even when they do, old dynamics between two people are almost harder to break than changing ones own personality traits so the same old problems always bite you in the arse as a couple.

That said, I have found it good for closure especially when both people were in love when they split first time round. Sometimes you just need to drive it into the ground and get to the point where you are truly done so you can move on.

I felt that with Peter and Diane, she wanted someone who would stand up to her more when she was behaving like a horrible twat and he was just not ever going to do that. Hopefully he'll be able to move on and be with someone nice now. I bet he has women queuing round the block! I liked him, he was sweet.

IamFrauBlucher · 30/01/2019 13:41

Ha ha just binge watched this today.

I hate that I'm shouting at the tv Blush

Mainly at Jeremy, I think he's a manipulative knobber. That whole insincere apology in South Africa to try and manipulate an apology from her for something she didn't really do wrong.

Ugggh....

I don't really have much time for Kate either, she really didn't want I own the responsibility for cheating. And was a bit abrupt when he brought up his insecurities. I liked Cams housemate- no beating around the bush there.

The older guy Peter, in the intro and to Diane in his video message - there hasn't been a day in the last 28 years when I haven't thought about you. That must've been nice for his ex wife to hear, particularly when she was pushing out his kid.

And that Erik guy, complete penis I was cheering her not to kiss him in NY his face was a picture after each hug. Grin

I need to turn off the tv now. Blush

thenightsky · 31/01/2019 14:24

On the second episode. WTF is going on with Eric and his lack of plates? How does he eat soup or cereal?

IamFrauBlucher · 31/01/2019 16:44

I think he just survives on meat over the sink Grin

purpleworms · 31/01/2019 16:47

Eprick/Erik. Ew. Envy

RhubarbTea · 31/01/2019 21:25

I think Erik deliberately removed the plates just to fuck with her and make her 'live by his rules'. Dick.
