Just been watching this.

Not particularly following him but wondered is he supposed to be clean these days?

Don't think so.......

controlfreaky2 · 29/06/2007 23:35

about as clean as a ....... v dirty thing (not to mention his fingernails.....

BigGitDad · 29/06/2007 23:35

I think he has given himself long term damage now. He will never be the same.

PeachesMcLean · 29/06/2007 23:38

Why does tv promote people who use heroin? I'd never normally suggest avoiding people because what they do but in this case... I'm sure he's a very nice man and all that but what does that say for how normal heroin is?

Well he's not a great ad for it but I'm a bit old and past it so i guess I'm not the target market!

I don't think he is being promoted because he uses heroin.

He is a talented musician whose new album and book is out soon. People go on chat shows to sell their products. He just also happens to be a charming, sweet person.

binkleandflip · 29/06/2007 23:43

I have to say, inspite of myself, I found him quite endearing. If he ever got clean (i think he'll probably die long before that could possibly happen) he could be a pretty decent person

PeachesMcLean · 29/06/2007 23:46

I've no doubt he's a decent person in himself - it just worries me all the media coverage about him and the mixed messages that gives young people. Look, a successful person who takes heroin - it can't be that bad surely?

obimomkanobi · 29/06/2007 23:47

I think that he is a really nice guy. He is working hard to overcome his addictions and it's a shame that people are so 'down' on him.

He seems to be a decent bloke, it's very sad that such a talented young man is in the grip of a terrible illness...which is what addiction is.

PeachesMcLean · 29/06/2007 23:49

I do agree that it's an illness. IS he working hard to overcome it though? I ask this in ignorance - as I say, I haven't been following him.

If you mean 'media coverage' as being in The Sun or Heat then everyone knows you cannot take that seriously!

WestCountryLass · 29/06/2007 23:50

I was wondering what he would be like as I have never seen any footage of him, only photos of him and Kate.

He seemed to me like a lost soul, someone who (over) analyses everything, one of lifes deep thinkers. His music was not my style but he is definitely talented.

He is trying to overcome it, he is much more 'together' than he was and he looks healthier too.

He was on Ross last summer and he looked awful and was all over the place.

PeachesMcLean · 29/06/2007 23:55

It hasn't made me want to do hard drugs either, but if I was a person who was inclined that way, it does sort of confirm that it's ok, because you can lead a life and carry on as an interesting individual. I think if you're leaning towards a particular addiction, you'll seek justification that it's not abnormal or a problem, and that helps you to carry on with it.
