Just started watching this tonight - so far so good but how creepy!

OP posts:

I binge watched the lot in 2 days. There are some funny bits in too, so not totally creepy.

midsomermurderess · 16/01/2019 15:07

I've given up on it. I just didn't care, about any of them.

ShirleyPhallus · 16/01/2019 15:07

I’ve just started!

UpToonGirl · 17/01/2019 21:14

Just finished it, really enjoyed it! But then I'm weird and usually root for the bad guy so this was perfect for me!

Apparently the books are really good.

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2019 21:16

Biggest waste of 10 hours I've ever spent !

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 18/01/2019 16:04

I've got a few more episodes to go but so far I'm enjoying it. Obviously it's ridiculous but there's nothing wrong with a bit of trashy, escapist TV once in a while.

Whisky2014 · 18/01/2019 22:26

I thought it was only OK.

MrsChollySawcutt · 18/01/2019 22:33

It wasn't bad, but not as good as the book.

Hoping series 2 will improve on the second book which went off on an odd tangent.

FourteenCows · 18/01/2019 22:36

I really enjoyed it. And I find Penn’s voice strangely compelling!

taleforthetimebeing · 18/01/2019 23:05

I love reading that Penn Badgley keeps replying to tweets of people who say they are in love with Joe that he is a psycho! It’s so bad it’s good tv!!

teta · 19/01/2019 17:13

I can’t stand it.I really hate the cynicism of the main character. But then this has echoes of real life to me.

Arkos · 19/01/2019 22:36

It reminds me of Dexter so far... the cynical voice over and the psycho you quite like

ElspethFlashman · 19/01/2019 22:39

I only was the first episode but it was quite droll. The girl Beck was quite likable too.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 23/01/2019 14:26

I liked the fact that it was 'sending up' how traditional rom-coms romanticise creepy, stalkerish behaviour from men.

I hope that in the next series they go into more detail about Joe's early life and his relationship with the old guy who owns the Book shop.

EachandEveryone · 23/01/2019 18:12

I gave up after episode three.

LoadsaBlusher · 23/01/2019 21:57

I really enjoyed it but definitely left it wide open for series 2.
I will be tuning in

flintfoxy · 24/01/2019 18:12

I'm struggling with it - I find all the characters really bloody unlikeable - especially beck

PattiStanger · 24/01/2019 18:17

I enjoyed it but did think it got a bit OTT and unbelievable in parts.

Beck really irritated me at first but I found she grew on me as the series went on. I felt sorry for her. Joe, Benji, Peach, all the people she cares about claim to care about her too but really they all just use her, objectify her or try to manipulate her for their own selfish reasons.

Cheesymonster · 25/01/2019 13:24

I agree. She irritated the hell out of me in the book but felt sorry for her in the TV series. Although I did keep shouting "close your fucking blinds"!

CatholicDadof2 · 25/01/2019 14:08

Watched the first episode. The premise was quite good, with the ease at which you can be tracked and preyed upon online. Then it all got a bit silly. Badly written characters, Bond villain style lair, masturbating in front of half of Manhattan. Didn't bother watching anymore.

PegLegAntoine · 26/01/2019 04:36

I enjoyed it, but there’s definitely better out there. I’m new to Netflix so enjoyed it as a first thriller binge!

Beck really reminds me of Emily from Revenge

ColdCrumpetsandButter · 26/01/2019 19:57

It's made by SHOWTIME who also do Dexter.
