You on Netflix, based on The Fall !?

Just noticed this and it looks like the plot is taken from The Fall (which was excellent). Is it a similar thing? Penn Badgley even looks a bit like Jamie Dornan (but not as handsome)
Anybody watched it. Looking for something that is not quite the usual American fare.

I watched all of You this week. At first I was a bit like because of the narration but I really got into it and definitely gasped/jumped a lot at points 😄 must have been alright if I watched it all in a week.

I don't think it's really like The Fall... Nonetheless I really enjoyed it and watched the whole series quickly. It's quite "teen" like (think Gossip Girl/Pretty Little Liars etc) but is definitely suitable for adult viewers as there is quite a bit of sex, violence and murder!

Give it a go - I'm glad there will be a season 2.

I haven't watched the Fall but I have read the book You that it's based on. I didnt love the book but I've started watching the programme and getting quite into it.

I’m also reading (well, listening to) the audiobook of You so I can then listen to the sequel Hidden Bodies, I presume series 2 will be based on this

The first series of The Fall was outstanding and after that it somewhat fell off a cliff but still worth watching

It's actually a book by Caroline Kepnes (there's a prequel or sequel too and they are brilliant books.

@wendycope that’s exactly what I thought! It does have some similarities to Dexter. I liked it but I didn’t like the book.
