Luther - from the beginning

Currently catching up on box set of series 1-4 before watching the last 2 series. Although the first couple of episodes had me hooked I've found myself getting very frustrated during series 3. There are so many 'why on earth' moments for example - the woman who heard someone in her house and saw her husband hanging down from through the ceiling and dripping with blood so clearly dead. Where did she run? Outside? downstairs to the front door? No she hid in a cupboard upstairs with no escape route! Not to mention Mary when she was escaping from Tom (?) - why did she stop running and hide? Why not keep on running?

And when Justin got killed why didn't Luther phone for an ambulance? Justin was still breathing when he got there!

Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it but am concerned that I'm missing something crucial if I'm spotting these things - I'm not usually the most observant person when watching TV Grin.

I've just started series one. Enjoyed the first two episodes but the third was so graphic I turned it off. Have now watched episode 4 and can just about tolerate the violence .
I do feel it's over rated.

I'm same as you @Blobby10 - part way through season 3 & very confused, especially with the couple (where the woman has MS & the man deliberately mangled his hand to avoid fingerprints) - who are they?

Also, where are Jenny & her mum from season 2? What about Alice? Feel like I've missed a few episodes, but know that I haven't.

Slowly making our way through series 4 and the detectives are STILL walking through the crime scene without any protective clothing on, the new recruit is STILL picking up evidence without wearing gloves and the stupid woman who hears noises in her house STILL goes and investigates instead of phoning for help or running a mile!! Can't she hear the scary music that always means the baddie is coming?!Confused Grin

@oldowlgirl hadn't realised there are only 2 episodes in series 4 and it just felt so disjointed to finish where it did - then we watched the first ep of series 5 and it seemed completely unrelated !! Lots of blood and gore but, surprisingly, the new DS wore blue overshoes and also gloves when she entered a crime scene! Still lots of running around in the dark woods without lights - and stupid women not taking basic safety actions but we will watch the rest soon enough Grin

We watched them all over Christmas.

I still don't really know what was going on in some of them.

And way too violent for me.
