Kick them both off. Job done.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/01/2019 09:30

ink she is! She's not nasty no.

But she absolutely knew what she was signing up for, the show ran for 7 years between 2007 and 2014, and then was back last year Jason has been a judge that entire time. She put herself in that postion then she CHOOSES to manilpate the audience by throwning an ill behaved tantum.

Why is that ok??????? Its not.

Also fighting agression with agression oh yes fantastic grown up way of dealing with any situation, that is not the way to deal with anything

MinorRSole · 22/01/2019 10:16

Yes Jason has been a judge all along but he isn't the whole show. Should celebrities not take advantage of an opportunity just because of 1 vile man?
I'm not actually defending this particular woman, her outburst bothers me less than her general attitude and laziness because I think it's a waste of a place on the show.

Jason though, I can't get wound up about someone having a go at him - he brings it on himself and is probably loving having everyone talk about him.

Jason wants the show to be all about him, Gemma wants it to be all about her, the rest of us just want to watch the skating.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/01/2019 10:49

Should celebrities not take advantage of an opportunity just because of 1 vile man?

That is absolutke NOT what i said at all. If you take that oppunity, your choice, you know what your going to get. Every one else on the show knows what their gping to get. Like i said this the man that compared Sharon Davies to faeces spinning in a toilet bowl. Did Sharon davies stand there screaming you compared me to extrement missing the other three judges comments no no because she knew that was part of the show, kyran bracken didnt stand their screaming and shouting, he calmly spoke after jasons feed back, suzy shaw didnt feel the need to throw a tantum. Sam matterface made a joke about brians ex wives did he stand there and shout in to tue darkness about how crass sams comment was no no he gave a smile and said oooh below the belt. Its the show. If you cant cope with it then DONT DO THE SHOW, and i'd say the same for wes and meghan. If your that insecure you cant cope with your boyfriend skating, then presude him not to do the show. There are plenty of other oppunities. Why is it thatvpeople were allowed to critise gillian mcKeith and said things like she knew what she was signing up for. I say it about gemma and she did know. And you go but but but but but

See i see the outburst as being manilpative because of the waste of a place on the show. Its all tied up. Its her overall behaviour thats unacceptable. Shes letting matt down, shes letting mark naylor and karen barber who do an awlful lot behind the scenes down, shes not taking it seriously. Her tantrum was to sway votes that she doesnt deserve. That makes a mockary of the show.

Jason wants the show to be all about him, Gemma wants it to be all about her, the rest of us just want to watch the skating

Totally agree with this though. As i said i'd be quite happy if jason waa no where near my screen. But that doesnt excuse the manilpation of votes that cost richard and potentionally better skaters their place.

MinorRSole · 22/01/2019 11:41

I disagree that people should just put up with it and I think ITV is culpable for putting a man like that on a family show. It's not the first time they've done it, seems to be a tried and tested formula but what example does it set to children.

You mentioned Karen Barber, she is a professional and extremely accomplished skater and the way Jason spoke to her was disgusting.

Gemma Collins may not be the most eloquent of people and her outburst wasn't appropriate but it was clear to see how upset she was. Jason isn't upset, he's just a deeply unpleasant person and a sad reflection on a society that gives him airtime.

JustBeenNosey · 22/01/2019 13:07

I don't see the point in the judges vote after the skate off because 'the head judge's' vote is final anyway, regardless of what the other judges have said

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/01/2019 13:20

Im not saying they should put up with it im saying theres a way of dealing with him without throwing a tantum and drugginh your skate partner in to it. Thing is after this series gemma is gone her tantrum has no long term negative affects for her matt stays has to work with jason next year the year afyer tje year after. Jason is goimg to now let this fester hes not accepted matts appolgy about something matt said simply because of gemmas vile lies. Jason will now take against matt and hes every partner. Suzy shaw kyran bracken stephen garely mikey graham to name but a few all clashed with jason did any of them avsolutely refuse to listen to the otjer three judges and repeatedly yell something that was blwntlu untrue no no they didnt. Like you said what he said abput karen was vile did karen stand their and tjrow a tantrum no no ahe didnt. What he said ab9ut karen was 10% worse, karen didnt put up with it she had her say dignified. Uet its ok for gemma to lie and tjrow a tantum. Like i say odd how people can say some one like gillian mckeith knew what shed sigbed up for and abuse her but gemma behaces worse and its oh poor gemma. Its noy her fault. YES OT IS.

as for it beimg itv wabting jason back - yes of course ots GOOD TV aint it

Allergictoironing · 22/01/2019 14:35

I don't see the point in the judges vote after the skate off because 'the head judge's' vote is final anyway, regardless of what the other judges have said

Not quite what you seem to think. The Head Judge has a sort of double vote, so if you get the situation where you have 2 voting one way and 2 the other then a decision can be made. If all 3 of the others vote one way, the Head Judge's vote can't over rule that.

QueenOfIce · 22/01/2019 14:56

This whole Gemma/Jason drama is so boring and totally detracts from the show and the others in it. Until Gemma is voted out I won't be watching anymore I'm fed up of hearing her name!

JustBeenNosey · 22/01/2019 15:03

@Allergictoironing oh so it's only if it is going to be 2 each?

Allergictoironing · 22/01/2019 15:53

Yep that's right. Look on it as the head judges vote being worth 2 points and the other judges vote being worth 1 point, or that the Head Judge can act as a tie breaker.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/01/2019 15:59

Yes judge its the same on strictly if its a uniamous decision ie the other three judges all saves the same person then that person is safe. Its happened many times on strictly that by the time its got to head judge its just a case of the head judge agreeing and making it 4-0 or disagreeing amd makimg it 3-1, if its 3-1, even if the head jidge has picked losing couple then they still go home.

Its just in the case of a draw, so like tgis week where ashley and jason saved the same couple and chris Nd jayne saved tje other couple, tje head judge's vote as 2 votes, so its effectively 3-2. Its presumed that the head judge isnt going to want to vote for both couples so two votes go to the couple tjey saved. But yhe head judge's bote is only counted as a double vote if its a draw.

The difference between the head judge on strictly is it stays as one person it was always len or now shirley were as on DOI the head judge alternates between chris and jayne

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 22/01/2019 19:11

Gemma Collins may not be the most eloquent of people and her outburst wasn't appropriate but it was clear to see how upset she was

What was clear was shw wasnt at all upset and she was maniplatung the audience in to voting to save her yes

Elderflower14 · 22/01/2019 20:02

Don't think Jason has done every year of you look at Wiki....

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 22/01/2019 20:34

Indeed.

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 22/01/2019 21:26

@NaughtToThreeSadOnions

Are you a superfan, a skater or a friend of the professionals?

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 22/01/2019 21:31

As much as I hate the Giant Cock ... she looks stunning here, that dress is gorgeous

Dancing on Ice is back!
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/01/2019 21:42

I do feel very sorry for GC whilst being simultaneously repelled by her. On a human level I would love her to find the husband and security she so desperately wants, but I find the diva stuff immensely wearing.

And I deplore the glorification of the whole TOWIE culture from which she came. They are not nice people.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/01/2019 00:33

Are you a superfan, a skater or a friend of the professionals?

None of the above, i am no where near the superfandom an i mean no where near it, passionate yes. Watched the show from the beginning yes. But i know people who wouod tell ne i waant interested at all or know anything about Dancing on ice and compared to them i would absolutelg agree. I'm really no where near approching super fan. I can pretty much take or leave

Am i a skater? No not really, havent been to a rink in about 7 years. Can i skate, no not really, have i had lessons yes, can i comment on technacality yes, slightly.

Friend of tje Pros? See now this is a difficult one, would the pros recongise me, well ansolutely, well pros that took part in series one two and three would, yes. Especially a certian group of them, i was slightly more than an aquentence of two of the celebrities, again woukd i call it friendship, not really no. I've spent many many off hours with tjem though, seen and known things that both celebs and pros woyldnt show on the programme

No i'm most definatrly not a producer, phil holly Jayne chris ashley jason karen nicky or robin either.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/01/2019 04:13

Also should i have been any of those things does that make me less entitled to my oppinion

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 23/01/2019 07:49

Speaking for myself (and I am happy to admit to being a Strictly obsessive! Glitterball) anyone is entitled to have an opinion - it is just interesting to know where someone is coming from to put their opinion into context.

I like people who are passionate about things but that's probably because I become overinvested in topics I am interested in.
I think glamorous (not shortening you to ferret! and that is a lovely dress you are right!) asked whether you were one of the above because you very clearly have stronger opinions on the GC debacle than most of us who are simply eyerolling a bit and/or cynical at production.

If you were a superfan the ire would be explained by the idea that Gemma's antics were damaging the show somehow.
If you were a skater your frustration would be at the lack of practise and basics (Matej said ''Well I just can't even..'' which made me laugh).
If you were a friend of the pros, especially Matt, then you would be naturally defensive of him.

But if you are none of those things then your genuine anger towards a z-lister, who is not much worse than Todd Carty, seems a bit - not misplaced - but a little OTT, much like Gemma herself. It's just a show.
The fact that you have had a run-in with Jason before but feels he has been wronged is actually very refreshing - most would want to put the boot in or be pleased at his comeuppance whereas you seem objective (again, interestingly, Matej does appear to agree with much of what Jason says about the skating the contestants are doing. Like you, he appears not to hold a grudge, despite Jason being disparaging about his choreo last year).

So no - you are absolutely entitled to an opinion - I think many were just curious as to how strongly held your opinion was (not meant to be a criticism, it's just the general viewer is less invested than you are. Not me, I am totally OCD about SCD and don't care who knows it!) DOI, not so much....I preferred Strictly Ice Dancing they did as a one-off that time. WinkGrinGlitterball

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 23/01/2019 07:54

I've just read that back and it sounds like I am having a go - apologies in advance if it comes across like that. Genuinely not wanting to be snarky and sorry if I sound off Flowers

Inkanta · 23/01/2019 08:15

"But if you are none of those things then your genuine anger towards a z-lister, who is not much worse than Todd Carty, seems a bit - not misplaced - but a little OTT, much like Gemma herself. It's just a show."

Yeah Smile

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 23/01/2019 09:26

Well matt is one of the people that would absolutely reckonse me, so one of the two celebrities i mentioned is some one who took ice skating to the next level, stared in holiday on ice, produced ice shows, matt was one of the consistant faces on the ice shows the celbrity went on to produce. In deed it was suzy shaw, one of matts closest friends at the time, who oncw told an arena they had to let me back stage as it was what the other two celebs would want. I just wouldnt say we were friends. Maybe we were.

So if my anger is misolaced isnt your defence of a z lister you dont know rather missplaced too. Also then all the anger towards siara for staying is also misplaced then. Its a tv show. Its good tv aint it. Yes of course their going to keep the ones that make good tv. So yes its fixed to a degree yet there are people on this thread talking of boycotting the show befaise richard went

Yet its acceptable for said z lister to manilate the public and stay

Inkanta · 23/01/2019 10:01

Its not really just about your anger being misplaced or misdirected it's the ferocity of your anger, the relentlessness of it, the numerous posts about it and the ferocity in your denigration of Gemma. The name calling of Gemma - repeatedly calling her a 'vile liar' etc. All very OTT and posters' like myself may wonder .. why are you so raging?
