When there's a sea mist of low cloud or rain the sea can be difficult to see. It's 5 miles away, down the hill. (Good job it's not up the hill really)

I think Sid was facing towards the door so Daniel saw him.
Gobby's kids are rarely mentioned, certainly not the son. Occasionally Immie gets a mention if one of her school friends is a patient. or random person who never is seem again.
