I'm off to watch.
Car crash tv

lulumama · 26/06/2007 20:13

the name of the show is awful

i just cannot believe she still has any credibility left

EffiePerine · 26/06/2007 20:14

she hasn't

southeastastra · 26/06/2007 20:15

apparently a bottle of wine is equal to a pizza in calories

NoodleStroodle · 26/06/2007 20:16

Isn't that cow gorgeous?!!!!!
I want one!

She is a cheeky bitch.

She really is.

Imagine someone like her standing there calling you a cow. Bitch.

I'd tell her to shove the dress up her condescending arse!!

Durdle · 26/06/2007 20:29

She is a COW.

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 26/06/2007 20:31

No, the pizzas I buy are only about 700 calories

I go halves with DD (DS doesn't like pizza)

nothing wrong with them. They've got carb, protein and veg. And 350-400 calories.

Gillian went to the winners wedding!

That is soooooo unfair

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 27/06/2007 09:49

She is so so barking

And she talks crap. Banning certain foods from your diet, unless you have a specific allergy or bad reaction to them, or just don't like them, is faddy nonsense imo. This idea "Gillian McKeith regime - pizza - opposites" is so unhealthy. I know those brides were eating in a mad unhealthy way (and was only half concentrating, but did one of them say she sometimes drank three bottles of wine in one sitting? Eh?) but having a takeaway or pizza once in a while is not unhealthy. Having the attitude that some foods are sinful, or forbidden, is.

And her shrivelled little face... fascinating

I think she's terrible, and her 'methods' are far too extreme. I agree with the freaking out over one slice of pizza, that's ridiculous, but there was an even worse example in her YAWYE programme, where one woman had eaten one chocolate digestive, and Gillian reacted like the woman had slit her own wrists. But... as for last night's show, handing the brides to be a liver, heart and eyes in a box... okay, they probably weren't human ones (they weren't were they?) but still. And showing that wine guzzling bride (who looked the most amazing at the end btw) a wedding dress in a coffin and saying "that will be you" is just wrong.

That blonde one who won the dress sooo wanted it, didn't she? Did anyone notice her giving the other brides evils when Gilli-witch was weighing them and taking their measurements, in case they'd done better than her.

Lizzer · 27/06/2007 10:39

Oh come on, they signed themselves up for it, they knew what they were in for!

I think she only uses shock tactics to get people to use their brains. We all eat crap from time to time but they were extreme. As if you'd eat that many take aways and expect to be anything other than grossly obese. I am not a svelte size 8 myself (14-16 if not pg) but I know what to put into my body to make it function properly and to exercise to make it work better. She's only stating the obvious.

I let dd (7) watch it last night, I don't see anything wrong with educating people against obesity.

Lizzer · 27/06/2007 10:40

LOL @ evil-eyed blonde one , mummy penguin

chevre · 27/06/2007 10:44

they were all giving it the evils. the born again one didn't look v. christian when the blond one won. this was ridiculous tv but i enjoyed it .

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 27/06/2007 10:58

LOL at the evils, yes, the camera focussed on that, didn't it?

Anyway, what did we think of the dress? Lovely bodice, but would have looked nicer with a straighter skirt, more sleek and fitted, sophisticated, rather that quite A line, as it was. Oooh, listen to me, I've gone all Trinny!!

yomellamoHelly · 27/06/2007 11:32

Would love to see them made over without going through all that hell tbh. I always think that makes a huge difference.

MatNanPlus · 27/06/2007 11:38

It would have been nice to have the after photo's, we saw enough of the before ones.

TootyFrooty · 27/06/2007 11:41

The impressive thing was the winner lost 10 inches off her waist in 8 weeks. Pretty amazing. (You can tell that dh was out last night - he hates this kind of programme!)

MatNanPlus · 27/06/2007 11:43

but because that was a large loss is it really sustainable in post GMcK life?

TootyFrooty · 27/06/2007 11:44

No idea. I imagine it depends whether she sticks with it or not. Plenty of people lose weight and keep (most of) it off.

Aloha · 27/06/2007 11:46

I thought teh winning bride looked very pretty at her wedding, but that couple are clearly going to get happily fat together. And after all, for all the McKeith troll doll kept saying 'I've given her husband the best present he could ever have', which i thought was repulsive, the chap clearly liked her enough to want to marry her even though she was a bit porky.

PenelopePitstops · 27/06/2007 11:47

It was a shit programme, didnt show you how to eat properly or anything, just humiliated those poor girls calling them horrible names and focusing on how bad they were.

Gillian whateverhernameis is a total twunt who looks about 75 while she is only 45!

TootyFrooty · 27/06/2007 11:50

I particulalry loved the bit when McKeith tries to make out it's all for their own good and she's saving them from an early death. It's car crash tv made to look like a health programme.
