How good is this film! I've watched it four times since yesterday and discovered a love for Dolly Parton.

It's been a huge hit in this house, with me and DD1 (13). Such a positive message.

One thing I especially liked was, that while there was a romance as part of the story - and how wonderful was that moment when Bo said, "Willowdean Dickson I think you’re beautiful. To hell with anyone else who’s ever made you feel less than that," - it didn't dominate the story, instead the main focus was self-acceptance and body-positivity.

Maybe, just maybe, Dumplin' might be the one thing that stops DD1 watching TATBILB over and over and over and over again! Xmas Wink

Lwmommy · 16/12/2018 19:52

I watched it because i love Dolly, it was a fab film and I've been listening to Dolly even more now

CantstandmLMs · 27/12/2018 15:42

I watched this a while ago but have been telling everybody to see it! What a genuine feel good movie with a brilliant message! And dolly?! You can't go wrong.

ilovecardigans · 03/01/2019 21:32

I absolutely adored this film! It's sweet, funny, warm, bittersweet, wistful, compassionate and has a great message. I blubbed on more than one occasion and the ending was terrific, as was the lead actress Danielle Macdonald.
