I am watching tonight's episode and I am fuming!!why do we not expect more from are disabled young people?! The attitude was very "oh you have Down's syndrome? Well that's ok you just go on being a shit then!" And the young fella with Aspergers seemed to feel like he shouldn't be arrested because it was upsetting!! I have Autism and I know right from wrong and so does my daughter who has a learning disability as well as being autistic. When a disabled person hurts you you are no less hurt because of their disability. There must be consequences for bad behaviour because I refuse to believe that all of the young men featured in tonight's program didn't know that they were doing wrong.

I think some people simply don't know what to do in these situations. You don't want to seem disablist and you want to do the right thing so you err on the side of being lenient I guess.

I get where you are coming from and think it can be dehumanising in a different way.
