Did anyone see the woman from Wyse cars? The way Matt Alwright behaved made me extremely uncomfortable. Ok so she was involved in dodgy (possibly dangerous) activity but what message was the program sending- that if a woman does something you don't like you accost her at work and refuse to leave when she asks politely and repeatedly? That you place yourself in her personal space so she can't shut her car door and leave? It seemed to me he was trying to provoke an aggressive reaction from her but incredibly she remained calm and polite throughout his unnecessary harassment. And I believe it was harassment, the presence of a tv camera doesn't change that. An older man bullying a young woman, making her feel uncomfortable and preventing her from getting away from him. That behaviour should not be normalised by being shown for entertainment on the BBC.

I think I will make a complaint.

They do it when it's men too.

Isnt that the nature of the programme exposing people who are up to no good?

SillySallySingsSongs · 22/11/2018 15:08

Have you never watched before? He does it to all rogue traders whatever their gender.

NotYoonique · 22/11/2018 15:13

No sympathy for her whatsoever, she was renting cars that could have lost people their jobs or even their lives

LIZS · 22/11/2018 15:19

She was acting illegally and putting others at risk, not for the first time. She was also obstructive and aggressive towards the film crew.

Janleverton · 22/11/2018 15:22

So just because she’s a young woman she should have a free ride and he should back off from doing what they do to all rogue traders on watchdog? I’m more uncomfortable with that to be honest. So long as the approach wasn’t because she was a woman, so long as the same treatment is meted out to others investigated.

SeekingClosure · 22/11/2018 15:23

I'm surprised no-one else felt uncomfortable watching it.

It's what Rogue Traders (a.k.a. Matt Alwright) does as part of Watchdog. He doesn't take things easy when traders who are after taking someones hard earned money and doesn't live up to their side of the deal, repeatedly. These are not one off events. These are habitual poor and shoddy traders who abscond with money and either don't provide goods or services to the quality they advertise.

Doesn't make for uncomfortable viewing, unless you happen to be said rogue trader!
