NOOooooooooooooo

Did he shoot his Self :(

I’m not sure what is happening

So the friends dad tried it on with their mum - dad went round there to threaten him

He then killed his self and left a note blaming their dad - which he stolen/hid for 20yrs - while making out that cat was a liar what she saw as a child

I agree with pp who thinks Fiona is more involved.
I'm enjoying this.

Budgieinaberet · 22/11/2018 22:01

YIKES Shock

Budgieinaberet · 22/11/2018 22:02

I'm actually trying to say nothing, so I don't spoil it for you jungle people Grin

Inkanta · 23/11/2018 07:24

Ooh yes this is a gem of a find on Channel 5 of all places!

Enjoying it. On 2nd episode so far.

QueenoftheNights · 23/11/2018 08:35

well, it either IS really him or it's

the other daughter
the gay son
the Other Woman (unlikely but what about the money she held onto- bribery?)
the odd policeman friend

or any combination of the above

tinstar · 23/11/2018 09:10

I'd be surprised if it was the other daughter or son as neither of them looked shocked when Cat produced the replacement ornament/murder weapon. I agree the policeman seems really dodgy (and was it my imagination or did he only start limping badly after he'd told Cat about his leg problem?)

I still think the dr is protecting - or thinks he's protecting someone.

QueenoftheNights · 23/11/2018 11:20

I can't see why the policeman is in it at all unless there is more to him- he comes over as a bit of an idiot so what's his role?

And what was all that with the money in the envelope and the old woman taking it to the surgery to give to the dr?

tinstar · 23/11/2018 11:33

The gp had stolen it from her and then felt guilty so pushed an envelope full of euros through her door.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/11/2018 11:54

Why would the GP have stolen the money though?

I'm thinking that it's not him, although he was definitely involved in the cover-up of his wife's death in some way. He seemed to have capitulated too easily to Cat's question at the end of yesterday's episode?

tinstar · 23/11/2018 11:57

Agree it seems odd, but there have been a few references to his money problems. And is selling the house because he doesn't want to keep paying the mortgage (you'd expect him to be mortgage-free at his age unless he'd remortgaged). Also keen to move to Portugal and start a new life which needs money.

Budgieinaberet · 23/11/2018 13:27

Tinstar I thought the same about the mortgage, and the limping copper.

FawnDrench · 23/11/2018 14:24

It could be Cat herself who did it, as she's been portrayed by some of her family as unstable, unreliable etc.
Jim has already said "and where were you Cat, why were you so late?" when she was talking about the events of the day of the mother's death.
And the father could be actually covering up for her because the reality would be too painful for her to cope with.

She certainly wasn't thinking clearly when she left the gun with Barry was she?

Cat's the only one who has "visions" of her mother and "talks" to her.

Well I haven't got a clue who it is to be honest but just putting another theory into the pot.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/11/2018 14:25

Oh I like your theory (FawnDrench) - so Cat's a very unreliable narrator?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/11/2018 14:26

I agree it's as good as some of the recent BBC dramas but it's somehow less 'in your face'...about it?

Inkanta · 23/11/2018 15:23

I think it's the doctor. I hope it is because he's a dastardly character and not very nice to his daughter. AND he invited the pervy friend into the mix.

dontcallmelen · 23/11/2018 15:51

I’m just confused, usually pretty good at spotting the one who dunnit.
Think there has been lots of red herrings & assumptions that Cat is the good guy, but on the other hand why did the Dad say last night it was him, also he doesn’t appear to be a very nice person so maybe it was him, if it’s a stupid ending will be well pissed off.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/11/2018 15:58

I haven’t a clue but enjoining lots

Could it be a double bluff

Doc obv didn’t kill wife for life insurance or else there would be no mortgage

Dad obv had a nasty streak

Why he keeps lying

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/11/2018 16:35

But we're not really being set up to consider it to be anyone else, are we?

Inkanta · 23/11/2018 18:20

Yeah - maybe it's not a whodunit. Maybe the Dr obviously did it and its a drama around that.

Budgieinaberet · 23/11/2018 21:09

I don't understand why he has money troubles. Unless he gambles

tinstar · 23/11/2018 21:12

That was so beautiful when he was getting his wife up and washing her. Made me shed a tear.

youngestisapsycho · 23/11/2018 21:59

It’s so sad.

tinstar · 23/11/2018 21:59

OMG that was one of the best things I've watched in ages. Cried through most of that last episode - so moving.

Optimist1 · 23/11/2018 22:35

Sorry, given that the last episode was representing what he told Cat, I thought he was still lying! The man who gaslights his children, steals from his patients, uses almost everyone he comes in contact with to further his own ends was no saint.
