Harrowing!! Poor freezing chicks covered in ice, or lost, or kidnapped by rival parents. Chewed my nails down to the quick watching this.

Amazing and horrific in equal measure! 🐧

I turned it off as we have visitors and I couldn't blub in front of them. It was so sad.

I was fine last week. This week - no. Moments of awe but many more of sheer sadness.... and that the team had such mixed feelings about returning home....

I watched some of the chimp one with my kids earlier. But I can’t show them tonight’s episode, it was so brutal. My husband and I had a chat about how lucky we are to have been born human and in a civilised country and not penguins of Antarctica!!!

Not ashamed to say I cried at that. Didn't watch last week's but saw a clip on Gogglebox and decided it was best avoided. I am glad the intervened to help when they could tonight.

I’m actually amazed how many survived. Penguins are hardcore!

I realised how many 🐧 documentaries I've watched when I preempted most. I. Still awe inspiring though and so glad they intervened. I don't think they'd have ever slept again if they'd left them all to die

What happened to the toddler-penguin who couldn't climb up the hill? After that they showed a mother penguin walking up the hill with her baby in the pouch but was it the same little one?

No.

On the human bit St the end, when talking about where the penguins were stranded, thry showed what I assume was that baby penguin frozen to death.

Wildlife creatures have such tough lives I'm in awe of them all, their will to survive, find food, care for their offspring etc.

However, I'm always reminded that pigs, cows, sheep, turkeys, chickens, ducks, fish would all prefer to live their lives to their own individual instincts, except they can't because we bring them into the world to farm them, kill them and eat them.

Can't get over tiny chicks being left alone to die in the cold And the mother penguin who had to leave her chick to survive herself.

@SleepingStandingUp, I think I didn't see that moment about the baby penguin frozen. Poor mite.
