Here, in case extra alcohol or earplugs are required, are the song choices-

GIRLS
Bella Penfold - Strong by London Grammar
Scarlett Lee - Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli
Shan Ako - Summertime by Billie Holiday

GROUPS
Acacia & Aaliyah - Act Our Age (Original)

OVERS
Danny Tetley - My Way by Frank Sinatra

BOYS
Anthony Russell - Beyond The Sea by Bobby Darin
Brendan Murray - Say Something by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera
Dalton Harris - Listen by Beyonce

Now, I used to love Big band, and it's not unusual to use 'modern' songs with a big band twist. But it has to work- I said last week, Rhyd doing Shirley Bassey's version of 'Get the Party started' - that worked.

I fail to see how 'Say Something' is going to work with a big band. It's a really hard song, and even Christina, with lungs the size of a Zeppelin, sometimes sounds lost in the mix. Brenda will just vanish with a Big Band.

I'm cross TTT is doing 'Beyond the Sea' one of my favourites- Will Young on Pop Idol did a great version.

I think A and A- still without a proper mentor - have been hung out to dry. The original song is a cop out- no-one has bothered to find a decent song that suits their style.

And bloody 'Listen' - Beyonce. Again. Really?

So, see y'all later!

nancy75 · 17/11/2018 21:06

The80sweregreat · 17/11/2018 21:07

TwistinMyMelon · 17/11/2018 21:08

Father and daughter tattoos. How classy...

NoisyBrain · 17/11/2018 21:08

Is Bella's dad Steve Brookstein??!

dillite · 17/11/2018 21:08

Middle of the night tattoo ideas are the best! They are only slightly worse than the ones you might get at Costa Del Sol or Benidorm.

Raahh · 17/11/2018 21:08

80s I think they mean private, in that under 16 they still have to do school work, and can't exactly nip to their own local comp!

@The80sweregreat it's the law if they are working in the entertainment industry and should legally be in school

nancy75 · 17/11/2018 21:09

Might have been a better idea to find a song she could sing?

Destinysdaughter · 17/11/2018 21:09

Having a tattoo will definitely mean she gets kicked out this week!

TwistinMyMelon · 17/11/2018 21:09

She is not a singer. She should stick to rapping...

Raahh · 17/11/2018 21:09

This is not Big band either.

Which muppet died to make her coat??

The80sweregreat · 17/11/2018 21:10

Raahh, it's sweet they have to do homework then write their own songs for this!

NoisyBrain · 17/11/2018 21:10

Another Big Band classic Hmm

trumpdump · 17/11/2018 21:10

Oh dear. I hope that was faux fur Bella...

PawneeParksDept · 17/11/2018 21:10

All the Harry Potter kids had private tutors on set, funded by Warner Bros

Piggywaspushed · 17/11/2018 21:10

nancy, get thee to Sainsburys!!

nancy75 · 17/11/2018 21:11

She’s dressed as a cross between the bay city rollers & the red muppet from Sesame Street

OutragedEtc · 17/11/2018 21:11

I bet this Big Band are really pissed off.

PawneeParksDept · 17/11/2018 21:11

Dreadful

I hope she is auto eliminated and Simon can't save her

Raahh · 17/11/2018 21:11

Pawnee the cynic in me also thinks that is why they will want them off the show before they are in line to be involved with the tour- the performing laws for them will restrict things, I imagine. They probably won't want the bother.

I actually liked that!
Not big band at all but there you go. London Grammar is a class act.
