Is anyone still watching Black Earth Rising?

I'm on episode 5. It was really gripping at the start. I'm struggling a bit now to keep up and make sense of it.

I’m on episode 4 and feel similarly. I only started to watch the series because of Harriet Walter, but they killed her off in the second episode!

Yes, I'm still watching! I think the lead actress is absolutely incredible. I hadn't realised that the lawyer who had the 'car' incident was played by Hugo Blick, the writer until today. He played the part well. Wonder why John Goodman was cast in Stephen Rhea's usual role? He's excellent anyway. No idea where the story is going now but I usually feel like that by episode five of any Blick series...

I'm also still watching.

Patrice is protecting Kate & there's some big secret about her?

I think I'm going to watch episode 4 and 5 tomorrow again. See if can make more sense of it!

I found the killing of the lawyer this week very confusing - was that nothing to do with the Patrice G case, but completely different clients (church of something)?

If so - I admit it, i don't see what was the point of it! (although it was somewhat harrowing)

Also, why was the lawyer sick in the waste paper basket? Any particular reason or just random feeling ill?

it's gone off a bit, hasn't it? I was quite gripped until this week, but now feel the pace has dropped off. I wonder if this one will turn out to be driven by something as mundane as pensions as well?

No idea why he was vomiting. I didn't really understand it.

and then the long scene between president and daughter didnt seem to take us far, but perhaps it is all a mother/daughter theme - in which case will we find out why the ex-wife never visits her daughter in hospital?

I loved the first 4 (or was it 5?) episodes! This one did not grab me as much....

I'm trying with it - I love Michaela Coel, and it's a different storyline, but I'm struggling. I agree re. the pace being a bit slow
