Anyone watching? It's so heartwarming.

I am. It’s so touching to see both sides getting to know one another and the older people tackling things they’ve not done for years. It makes such sense to have older and younger people learning from each other and making new friends.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/10/2018 22:11

It was very touching. Did make me cry as my DF died last year and my DM moved into retirement home this year

LeonoraFlorence · 08/10/2018 22:21

Ah, it’s lovely. Loved Lavinia noticing Phoenix holding back and reaching out to him. What wonderful children too.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 08/10/2018 22:59

Very touching and such a great idea for all.

EmmaC78 · 08/10/2018 23:02

I loved the last series so hoping this one is as good.

PatchworkElmer · 08/10/2018 23:11

I didn’t know it was on again!

purpleme12 · 08/10/2018 23:31

It made me miss having a pre-schooler around :-(

ineedaholidaynow · 08/10/2018 23:43

It was very moving watching the old gentleman not wanting to dance with anyone as he had only danced with his wife before. Then the dance teacher came over and danced with him. Then later in the programme, it said that he had not been outside the flats complex independently for 3 years, and instead he sat and watched the CCTV footage round the flats.

I hope he gets something from this.

BackforGood · 08/10/2018 23:55

Is this a new seried starting then, with different dc and older folk ?

I'd love for them to go back and see if any of the impact from the first series has been maintained. Smile

ineedaholidaynow · 09/10/2018 00:04

Yes, different children and different old people. It's filmed at biggest retirement flat complex in UK. Think they are looking at older people, so some in their 90s and one 102 year old lady.
It is for longer period of time and they are monitoring the impact on the children too

Sidge · 09/10/2018 17:10

I loved the last series and was pleased to see its back again.

Just watched last nights - so lovely and heartwarming and fascinating too. It’s interesting to see the older people coming out of their shells, and the children blossoming.

I remember last time being surprised at just how much of an impact having the preschoolers around helps the older people.

BackforGood · 09/10/2018 22:39

Excellent, thank you. I will go and look on 'Catch up'.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/10/2018 01:11

A friend of mine lives there. But he was considered to out going and cheerful to go on it. Shame because he would have loved it. And doesn't have any family.

WanderingTrolley1 · 10/10/2018 01:22

Very moving programme.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/10/2018 13:36

Love the banter between Ken and ?Fred. They seem like they've been friends for years, but only met through the show.

BackforGood · 21/10/2018 19:55

Can't find this on my general Catch uo this week - can anyone remind me what day and what channel it is on to help with the search please ?

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2018 21:53

It's on 4

BackforGood · 21/10/2018 23:01

Thank you Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 22/10/2018 21:36

Interesting how most of the residents don't leave the village. I did wonder about the location when it was built as it's a long way out of town.

MarcieBluebell · 01/11/2018 02:47

Aw just watched the sports day one. It's too much.

MagentaRocks · 01/11/2018 04:54

I loved it when one of the kids asked about a grandad and the older woman said he had died and the kid said ‘that’s what happens to old people’.

The kids look so happy when they go in and see the older people and give them hugs. It is so sweet. I really hope there is a difference in the tests at the end. Bet they are all going to miss each other when it is over,

flumpybear · 01/11/2018 05:58

Love it! My kids went to that nursery, they're such a lovely nursery I really think it's such an amazing idea - and great choice of nursery of course!

The retirement village is a bus ride
From Nottingham and a mile ish away from Clifton high street, which isn't the greatest satellite town, but it has some good facilities. Nothing is really walkable from there but then it would never be that good or big if it was close enough to town to walk

MarcieBluebell · 01/11/2018 13:20

A bit that made me laugh was when when of the retired men asked the girls favourite bird to name there team after. She said pigeon. Haha. He was like what about eagle... Lets go with Team Eagles.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/11/2018 19:46

Apparently they are currently filming there again. According to a friend that lives there. So hopefully a Christmas special is in the offing.

sadsadsady · 02/11/2018 19:51

DS is in preschool and they're opposite the old folks home. They go in there quite often, it's really lovely.

They went trick or treating in there and one lady said it was the thing she looked forward to most in the whole year.
