me me me !!!!

I miss them, I miss Josh and Toby and I really miss Leo

Seem the pilot of Studio 60, it was ok, but it wasn't West Wing

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 13:30

Yes, 'discovered' the WW around November last year and literally finished the last ones last week. So (in both a crying and god I'm a sad git kinda way) and bizarrely I had a dream about Josh and Donna last night . Still, I can start all over again now and maybe understand a bit more what the hell is going on in the earlier episodes!

moopymoo · 11/06/2007 13:32

didnt think it would be. i dont really rate matthew perry.
i miss josh most. and i would love to know how the santos administration gets on. think i am going to start watching them from hte beginning. its funny, it really lives with me a lot. toby breaks my heart - hubris personified. but so moral. and so like my dh in being completely difficult!

Me. It would be hard to recreate the magic of the West Wing (early series at least). Hope that Sorkin's talent, like Toby's on occasion, has gone walkabout in the building and will return to full force soon.

Hassled · 11/06/2007 13:34

We got to the very end, cried a bit and have now started again - and worked out that as soon as we end we can just go back to Series 1. There's always bits you've forgotten or never really understood in the first place. It was the best TV series ever - and I have a secret thing for Toby .

moopymoo · 11/06/2007 13:36

yes i think the earlier series were the best. Rob Lowe was a great loss. it is flawed throughout of course, loads of lose ends never tied up.. (where did ainsley hayes go? oh , the Hoover institue was it...)
but i am only allowed to say that it coz i love it

oh i know hassled hes so brilliant and wierdly sexy. me too.

Actually we need a new show. so, if you love WW, what else do you like? i have tried really hard with House but just cant get over his accent.

Hassled · 11/06/2007 13:41

Oh I'm so glad it's not just me. Of all the weird crushes I've had, Toby Zeigler is the weirdest. And I'm pretty sure it's Toby, rather than the actor - as far as I'm concerned Toby is a real person and I refuse to believe otherwise.

bumperlicious · 11/06/2007 13:48

It's not the same but have you all seen A Few Good Men, and the American President? Both films by Sorkin. Love them both!

moopymoo · 11/06/2007 13:51

i have seen them - great films, American President feels a little wierd though after WW! I dream about Ww too - often we watch it last thing and i go to sleep thinking abojt it. they are real of course!

I did that a lot. We had a really bad habit of watching about 3 a night (obviously got no housework done!) and then I would have WW style dreams...

lilibet · 11/06/2007 16:33

I loved Lost

But it doesn't match up

We flicked over to whatever channel it's on the other Sunday, I was a bit premenstrual, heard Mrs Landginham telling Charlie that she was going to pick up her new car and promptly burst into tears.

So we watched to the end of that and then had to get Two Cathedrals out and watch that, just to finish the series

and so i could have another good cry!

policywonk · 11/06/2007 16:44

I miss it, but at least it bears repeated viewings.

Rob Lowe is weirdly good in it, isn't he? All that time imprinted on our consciousness as a lame-brain US bratpack hunk who shagged underage girls, and then he's so believable as a geeky politics nerd that you almost forget how good-looking he is.

He's in that new Brothers and Sisters thing, as is Rachel Griffiths from Six Feet Under. However, it also feature Sally Field and Calista Flockhart, which is squeaky annoyingness squared in my book. Will have to give it a try and see.

moopymoo · 12/06/2007 14:46

brothers and sisters i should check out i reckon. yes rob lowe is v good. i reckon hes one of those talented idiots haunted by demons that stop him achieving is potential, tortured genius. robert downey similar type.

I miss it!

PinkMartini · 12/06/2007 14:54

God I do.
Whenever I'm in a bad mood I put on an episode from season 2 (I particularly like the one where they all sit in paint) I like Emily Proctor in it - and her relationship with Rob Lowe.
Rob Lowe is v good in it but I think it's because it's a little like the real thing.
How do I watch Studio 60?
Looking forward to Brothers and Sisters as I was an Ally McBeal fan too in my distant youth.

policywonk · 12/06/2007 16:04

Studio 60 is going to be on More4 in the autumn, I think

moopymoo · 13/06/2007 11:30

its just so soothing...liberal wet dream etc but just absorbing and a bit cosy. is borothers and sisters coming to more4?

Me and DH have just finished watching them all too - started at Christmas.

Definitely the best thing ever on telly.

Spent a happy evening last night on YouTube - searched for the West Wing and there's about 30 videos on there: CJ doing 'The Jackal'...sad bits about John Spencer/Leo McGarry dying...The President on the Butterball hotline etc. It was great.

policywonk · 13/06/2007 23:34

moopy - I think it's going to be on C4. There are plenty of trailers already.

Tortington · 14/06/2007 00:21

is so miss it.

yoda · 14/06/2007 19:42

Me, me, me

I LOOOOVED this series way too much than is good for someone. I was/am a big fan of Josh/Donna, but also really liked the rest of the cast as well, which i have not found in any other series.

Although i hated Lockjaw and have REFUSED to watch the entire 3rd series - i read all the episode synopsis instead. Does this make me mad ??

ps. nothing since has really come close to the writing of TWW, but we really like Ugly Betty.
