Users are in individual apartments and can only communicate via messaging

Giving it a go as it's followed GBBO 😂 anybody watching?

Watched a bit but think i'll change channel...

IGiorni · 18/09/2018 21:50

Yes! Not sure what to think yet. Freddie is going to annoy me, intrigued by the lad pretending to be his own girlfriend Hmm

Cuppaand2biscuits · 18/09/2018 21:50

I've just turned on and come on here to find out what I've missed.

Petalflowers · 18/09/2018 21:52

Yes, i’m watching, I quite like that the 40 year old was going to pretend to be a doctor. It shows, how fake social media all is.

It would have been nice to,have a bit more, variety in age.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 18/09/2018 21:52

Watched the first half hour- truly shite!

LutherRalph1 · 18/09/2018 21:53

I may be following ( but I am burning through maternity leave junk tv very fast!!)

Bit weird the mum doesn't want anyone to know she has a baby.

Petalflowers · 18/09/2018 22:08

I guess the idea is to show that, on social media, you can be anyone, and the producers behind the show thought that hiding the baby would show this.

mnahmnah · 18/09/2018 22:12

Do you think they get to leave for some fresh air?! Especially the baby!

BlueKarou · 18/09/2018 22:21

I have a 'friend' on FB (aka an old school acquaintance I never speak to or see) and she very very rarely mentions her child, or puts up pics. So I kinda get it.

I'm intrigued by The Circle so far, but don't know if I'll watch it religiously. Might minge it a couple of evenings a week.

Also, and it's probably because I read too much fiction, but I'm definitely getting sci fi dystopian future vibes. It's like watching a young adult book! Possibly just me though.

BlueKarou · 18/09/2018 22:24

Binge!!!! Oh dear...

Polarbearflavour · 18/09/2018 22:41

Oh dear. I won’t be watching. People pretending to be someone else so ultimately it’s all fake. What’s the point?

And can they not leave the flat? Or go on the balcony? And is a new block of flats C4 have leased for 3 weeks?

whywhywhywhywhyyy · 18/09/2018 22:44

The fake doctor has said she's 34 when she's 40 Grin Too many blatant lies.

Freddie probably would have done really well if he'd gone as himself. There's a moral in that somewhere.

2rebecca · 18/09/2018 22:57

Find it daft that Freddie doesn't want to be seen as just being gay but acts mega camp. My male gay friends just speak and behave normally. Like the bloke pretending to be his girlfriend. The blokes sound too desperate to hook up

2rebecca · 18/09/2018 23:06

Is it the same 8 for 3 weeks?

Petalflowers · 18/09/2018 23:24

Do you think they are in the block of flats featured, or is that just a front. If it is that block of flats, then surely they would see each other on the balcony or stairwell or loft.

I wondered whether they are cocooned in the flats for the three weeks? What about jobs, money, fresh air etc. It’s not big brother. It would get really claustrophobic in there.

The I think the ‘dr’ looks good for 40.

I think the lies will catch them out eventually, even ifs just using the wrong pronoun, ie. he instead of she, or the dr won’t know any medical stuff, if asked.

NeverTwerkNaked · 18/09/2018 23:34

DP insisted on watching it “just to see”. I would recommend it. It was mind numbingly dull. The TV equivalent of going to the pub to meet a friend and then they spend the time messaging someone else but think it’s fine because they read out the messages to you.

alwayslearning789 · 18/09/2018 23:42

Interested to see how the 'Kate' situation evolves, as Alex was starting to question his own extent of deception.

Will keep watching, to see how the concept develops over time with the various housemates circumstances.

2rebecca · 19/09/2018 07:55

Can't see doctor woman doing well. I'm a doc but wouldn't admit it in a TV popularity contest. It intimidates people especially men. Even if saying she's 34 she's a bit old for them to flirt with, if they think she's cleverer than them as well they won't bother. People also then expect certain behaviour from you. Also age 34 she's more consultant age or senior reg. Junior doc is more in your 20s especially describing yourself as a junior doctor. I'd hate to be cooped up for 3 weeks. Don't they have jobs?

2rebecca · 19/09/2018 07:59

The Kate artifice works because he's basing her on a real person he likes. The other 2 basing their aliases on pretend people they think people should like will make more mistakes

Sweetheart · 19/09/2018 16:41

I watched - I found it quite interesting that NONE of them thought of the possibility that the other people might not be who or what they said they were - even the people pretending to be someone else.

I don't have any issues with any of them lying - after all isn't that what the whole experiment is about?!?!?

I think it's an interesting concept and will probably watch to see how it all pans out. I do think it would have been better to vary age groups rather then a load of horny 20 year olds looking for hook ups. The experiment could really be so much more than that if the producers had thought about it a bit more.

I guess they have gone for residents around the age of the demographic they are hoping to attract.

MrsTommyBanks · 19/09/2018 21:48

I found it really interesting. But I don't really do the FB, Instance, Twitter, even what's app.
I not unaware of them. I just never really got grabbed by them..
So its a sort of insight on that level too.

MrsTommyBanks · 19/09/2018 21:49

Instagram! See my phone doesn't know it Smile

foxycleopauper · 19/09/2018 23:14

Am I the only one finding it a bit of a guilty pleasure? BlushGrin

Dee03 · 19/09/2018 23:20

I'm hooked already and I wanted to be in bed asleep by 10pm Blush
