Anyone else watching this lovely programme on BBC2, 6.45pm each weekday evening?

I am in awe of the skills the professional restorers have.

They can work such magic on folks' treasures.

We ADORE it! I cried at the woman with her panda the other day!

Flightywoman · 13/09/2018 00:20

Also, Jay Blades is on celeb Masterchef this week...

Wingedharpy · 13/09/2018 00:25

I cry at something or other on it most days Flighty.

Who knew you could get so emotional about other folks bits of furniture or old toys?

Kirsten (ceramics) is my new girl crush.
She is a genius

It's wonderful ,so calm and relaxing .I am in awe of the fantastic skils shown - where on earth can you learn these skills .I just love watching Steve dismantling and fixing so many different things ,loved the steamboat shown the other evening .

Idratherhaveacupoftea · 13/09/2018 12:21

One of the best things on tv, I love it. I'm constantly amazed at the things they can do.

Clutterbugsmum · 13/09/2018 12:34

I think it’s great that the bbc took up a random tv idea.
My children are fascinated by it.

TonTonMacoute · 13/09/2018 17:12

Oh god, I love this programme. It’s more or less the only thing I can stand watching at the moment in fact.

I have quite a crush on Steve actually, and I love Will too. He’s such a sweetie!

BitOfFun · 13/09/2018 21:10

I really love this too- and doesn't it look a brilliant place to work?

Lovelongweekends · 13/09/2018 21:12

I love it, it completely relaxes me and is such easy watching. I loved the elephant today!

The80sweregreat · 13/09/2018 21:27

It's a gem of a show. I love soft toys and the tears are real. Lovely clever people and a lovely show.

bluebump · 13/09/2018 21:31

Me and my DS love this, they are such talented people mending all of the different things. I love seeing everyone’s reactions when they come to collect their item.

Greenteandchives · 13/09/2018 21:36

This is such a feel good show. I love it and tell everyone to watch it. The reaction of people when their treasures are restored by these lovely gentle people is heartwarming. And as for Will...how on earth did he acquire such skill at such a young age?

The80sweregreat · 13/09/2018 21:43

In today's fast works it's nice to see patience in action!
It's a peaceful show!

The80sweregreat · 13/09/2018 21:43

World rather

Wingedharpy · 13/09/2018 22:24

I agree Greentea, regarding Will.
He's just a babe - in more ways than one!

It is heartening to see these people carrying on with skills which must be rarely used in these days of mass production and flat pack.

I noticed that the one thing they all seem to have in common, is that they all speak and conduct themselves in a calm manner.
None of the contrived phrenetic shrieking about how much they have to do and no time to do it.

I suspect you need to be not only skilled but also a very patient person to do this sort of work.

Long may it continue.

Will is lovely.
Its true that it's nice to watch a calm programme for a change.

The80sweregreat · 14/09/2018 05:50

What's the betting they have ' celebrity repair shop' in a few months time ? Most programmes can't seem to function without giving b list celebs a slot on these type of shows!

MissWimpyDimple · 14/09/2018 06:00

We love it too!

DD wants to be the lady who fixes the stuffed toys 🤗

We loved "Mouse" and yes, I also cried at Panda 😮

AviatorShades · 14/09/2018 07:05

Another great fan here too (waves flag). I've spent many hours sitting in various rels workshops since I was small and I can almost imagine I'm watching this in smellyvision - the wood shavings, that light oil they use, etc..

Absolutely love this show.

Idratherhaveacupoftea · 14/09/2018 09:20

Will Kirk has his own furniture restoring business in London. The Repair Shop is actually a museum so is only used for restoration for the programme.

The80sweregreat · 14/09/2018 09:25

It should be on BBC 1 - its far better than the antiques roadshow and the people in it are real characters and are naturals on tele.

James May did a programme where he took things apart and put them back together again and that was popular too.

Ifailed · 14/09/2018 09:25

I like it, but hate the way it fawns over Steve just because he mends clocks, yet Kirsten, who does far more impressive work in my opinion is very much pushed aside.

AviatorShades · 14/09/2018 09:48

I've not noticed any 'fawning over' any of the specialists they bring in tbh, tho I think if I was in charge of the camera for a day, I'd be lingering long on WillWink. It was interesting to see Steve's sister (can't remember her name) doing all that leather work. What a creative familySmile

Karatema · 14/09/2018 09:54

Love them all. If my DH misses a programme then he throws the remote to me and asks me to find it so he can watch (DH is brilliant at so much I can forgive him for not being able to find catch up tv Grin)

The80sweregreat · 14/09/2018 13:53

i can never find anything on catch up unless i am on the PC! on the TV i cant seem to master that one either!
The lady with her panda, so sweet.
