Grayson Perry - Rites of Passage

Anyone watching? I think the idea of a baby spending 105 days not touching the ground and ‘the harsh realities of life’ is quite touching but I find it hard to marry that with the fact that the baby has already had her ears pierced!

The baby featured in first part is from Bali and that is their tradition

I watched this last night. Very moving. I loved the Balinese tradition, a bit like the idea of the fourth trimester?

But rituals and rites of passage speak to my DNA as an Irish Catholic, lol!

I watched the one on death and ended up bawling, it was very emotional. I love Grayson and will watch the rest on catch up.

I've loved this series - think I've cried at every single episode but then, so has Grayson! Even DH was crying at last night's. Those teeny tiny babies in their plastic boxes. His description of the neonatal intensive care unit being a 'slow motion miracle' really struck a chord with me.

I think |I missed some but I remember the burial one, I believe I saw a hindu marriage and a divorce one. I think he is great!
